A warm welcome awaits you at this lovely, friendly pub. Maria is lovely, we took our dogs in and she fetched water and a little bit of meat from the Sunday roast for them, this was our first visit. We are new to the area and were made to feel right at home. Thanks to all staff and customers at Pick and Shovel.

Went to this little gem because of a tip off from a friend. Hung around after work to get in when it opened at 5.30. Service was awesome, food even better. I had the Honey Chicken with rice and the Sui Mai also. Amazing flavours, good value and will definitely go back next time I am in the area!!!

Otley Brewpub & Kitchen

We had a large party of 17 people and they catered to all our needs including meals not on the Sunday menu for those who were fussy. All meals were stunning and the staff were very attentive and nothing was too difficult for them.

Only a small little place, but the coffee is the best in town. By a mile! Food looks good too, and their health drinks and smoothies are superb. Really highly recommended. Dog friendly too ?

Hawthorn Inn

Very quick service. Great service on the bar and nice new York chicken with a few pints. Great outside area too if the sun's out. Ordered food for after I finished my meal with my friends to take home for the wife. Lovely and fresh and boiling hot to take when I was ready. What an absolute gem of a place. Had the best falafel wraps, the most amazing coleslaw and friendliest service. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Fantastic variety of very tasty food

Shogun Kebab House

Popped in for cheeseburger to takeaway. Reasonable prices. Didn't have to wait long a day fairplay it was a very tasty burger.I've been a customer of Shogun off and on for a number of years and the food is always nice.

Bocs Pwdin

Comfortable and lovely little shop. The treats are delicious and come in fantastic portion sizes, great prices. The staff are also friendly, bringing a very welcoming atmosphere.

Yummy Yummy Chinese Take Away

Been ordering here for a few weeks after my original Chinese was under new management and seriously went down down hill. Food not always really hot but that's to be expected through delivery to two villages away. Food is always really tasty and I have no complaints. The fact it has a website and I don't have to phone an order through is a great bonus!

Saffron Indian Takeaway Pontypridd

Always amazing food. Best place in Pontypridd for miles and ive tried many places. The chicken tikka kebab is spot on and sauces are maxed with flavour. Only thing that could make this place better for me is if it did deliver. Pick up only but the estimated times given are quite spot on. Will be back again soon!

Maltsters Arms

A lovely pub that welcomed a festive invasion. The regulars and bar staff were really friendly and coped well with the sudden demand for drinks. Hope to visit again soon.

Casa Bianca Pontypridd

Great! Lovely Italian food with a wide selection on the menu. Plenty of vegetarian and GF options. It was quite busy when we visited so we had to wait for table service and had to approach the counter to get the bill as we had public transport to catch and didn't have time to chill/relax after our food, but otherwise faultless, will be happy to return for another meal as the food was delicious and the portions were a good size.Vegetarian options: Good selectionm

We are regulars here and it's a lovely family meal out. Only had carvery bit are planning pizza night soon.On Christmas eve they had elf there and Easter bunny on Sunday the kids love it and can't believe the price for a Sunday meal out. Service is great and always there to help symone has geen there on serveral of our visits and even if not booked has gone out of her way to accommodate us amd inform us . Get the app if your going great offers on there.

Jamil Indian Restaurant

Just had my first takeaway from Jamils and all I can say is that it didn't disappoint. All food was very tasty, however I have now realised that the supermarket jalfrezi are mild compared to an authentic Indian one.... My mouth is on fire but it was worth it. Would highly recommend this

Had Easter Sunday dinner. Very busy...excellent service ... very enjoyable day.Why 4 stars...I’m fussy, lovely meal spoiled by adding some sort of herbs that had a perfume smell and taste, believed to be the carrots but not sure, either way something is/was added that took away from an excellent meal. There was extra gravy and extra sticky toffee sauce supplied without delay on request ... so I would recommend, maybe trying each dish of vegetables prior to placing on the plate ... if like me you do not like herbs.

Village Kebab House

Great food all round. It was a large order for the family coming to £50 for 2 children & 4 adults to eat. It was a quick delivery & all the food was hot & tasty. Would order here again given the opportunity.

Hoffi Coffi

Best pizza and chicken, pesto panini i have had in Ponty. From all places the dough in Hoffi Coffi tastes best for me. And of course chef and the boss are always nice and helpful ❤️

BFC Beddau Fried Chicken

Decent meal, generous portions. More expensive than some more mainstream competitors, broadly comparable quality BUT local and deliver. Looked like plastic free packaging on my meal too which is a real bonus (boxes MIGHT have a plastic film layer but certainly not masses of styrofoam etc like some).Won't replace my usual chicken source every time but has its place and may use again - just a shame the minimum order works out for delivery as about £15.

Had a kebab from here tonight. I've had one in the past but wasn't fussed before. Tonight however. The meat was cut from the spit. It was one of the best kebabs I've had in a long time. I liked the fact before that they made their own sauce but with fresh meat in a hot pitta is proper old school. Keep em like this and it's good.

Beddau Charcoal Grill

It is the only traditional home made Kebab in the whole area. I had pizza and kebabs that I had never had anywhere else in the UK. I checked their website for customer reviews and asked local where to eat? it is just delicious, 5 star

I'm so fussy when it comes to food and I never leave reviews , but I've never had a bad meal from big and tasty , the barbecue sauce is to die for , and the sweet chilli ribs ? , always hot and fresh, and these guys know how to cook a good Chinese ?

Domino's Pizza - Pontypridd

We order as a family quite regularly and it's generally good food, albeit can be on the cold side which is understandable with us being near Ynysybwl.Occasional mishaps have crept in of late such as the last order, where they delivered a small pizza instead of a medium, or the previous time they delivered extra fries instead of garlic bread.On the plus side they will sort it and send out the missing/incorrect items but sadly the rest of the food can be even colder by the time the replacement arrives.Short version: food is good, drivers are lovely and prompt, can have order issues but they resolve them.

Went in for my free coffee and was greatly surprised, the coffee was strong but not bitter and tasted wonderful. The cafe is very clean, tidy and presentable with plenty of seating. The staff are dressed to a high standard and the food looks and smells amazing. Would highly recommend this cafe.EDIT....Just been back in after many years and the place is still as great. It's had a lovely makeover which has bought the deco up to modern times.The food is fantastic. I ordered a big breakfast to which I had a free serving of chips with, could not fault that. I couldn't finish the breakfast as it was so big.The lovely waitress is so polite and is a credit to the business. I will defo be going back again soon.

Very generous size cod, crispy batter and chips all well cooked. Homemade curry sauce lush! Nice pies. Great service, friendly staff. Highly recommend as a regular customer, enjoy!

Lovely clean cafe, nice atmosphere, friendly and polite staff. Excellent value for money, my only gripe is the sausages could be better quality, they're a bit mushy.

Tŷ Mawr Hotel

Great looking pub inside, done out well good option of drinks and the food ,we had Sunday dinner, was really good with very filling portions. However service out the front was a tad slow with the girls not there alot and phone ringing endlessly with no one answering it. But overall food was excellent and came quickly.

Fantastic local pub. Plenty of activities and quizzes and great atmosphere. Outside beer garden and car park. No food facilities but you can get food delivered there.

The best Sunday roast I've ever tasted, n I could eat a roast dinner every day of the week. I would 100% recommend thus 2 any roast lovers, n the portions 4 the price is crazy. Loved it

Lovely food here. Staff are always happy and helpful. I have come here since i was a little girl. My mother worked here for 25+ the owners are happy and helpful. Wouldn't really say its suitable for children. The atmosphere is amazing and you are always reminded of how service was like in the 60s. The interior is very retro but beautiful.

What lovely welcome we had. It's only a tiny place, but they managed to fit the seven of us in. Best food we've had si ce we arrived in country 4 days ago.It was also a trip down memory lane as both my wife and I visited the Cafe as children when went to Ponty market.Well done Carlos!

Olive's Attic

Awesome! Very homey Cafe and super affordable. The Mocha we had was good and I wad really happy with the food for only £6.5! The best way I can describe the ambience is like going to your Grandparents house on a Sunday for tea. A rarity for me to give 5 stars but truly deserved.

The Rickards Arms

Called in for a meal while out for a walk. Excellent value 2 meals and 2 soft drinks plus one tea under £21. Could have also had deserts at just £4 each....maybe next time.

The patriot

Fantastic, very welcoming, offered me a taste of all the ales which are fantastic. The beers are all Rhymney Brewery and I only paid £3 per pint for the ones I had, the Bitter is splendid. Well worth a visit! Will visit again, probably tomorrow ?
