A warm welcome awaits you at this lovely, friendly pub. Maria is lovely, we took our dogs in and she fetched water and a little bit of meat from the Sunday roast for them, this was our first visit. We are new to the area and were made to feel right at home. Thanks to all staff and customers at Pick and Shovel.

Otley Brewpub & Kitchen

food was amazing and didn't take long to come out at all!! Drinks were absolutely lovely and great service overall. Went for a birthday dinner on a Thursday and was pretty quiet which was nice! Would 100% recommend for food or a drink!!

Best takeaway I've had in a long time and thanks to the £8 discount it was an absolute bargain. Arrived here in no time, everything was beautifully done. The homemade Naan breads are out of this world. First time ordering from here, Will be ordering again.

Hawthorn Inn

Highly recommend. Fantastic food, loads of menu options. 3 of us had different meals and deserts and everything was amazing. Very welcoming and friendly staff. We will definitely be returning

Codfather

I accidentally came across this hidden gem while passing through Pontypridd, and wow, what a find! I had the rissole in batter, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever eaten. Crispy on the outside, full of flavour inside, just perfect. Honestly, the only downside is that it’s now ruined all other rissoles in batter for me... nothing else comes close!
They had a range of curries. I tried the Chinese curry, which was delicious and packed with flavour. Everything tasted fresh and cooked with care.
But what really made the visit was the amazing lady behind the counter, she was so friendly, chatty, and just genuinely lush. You don’t get that kind of warm, personal service everywhere. Even the customers were lovely, it felt like walking into a little community.
They don’t take card, so I had to nip across the road to get cash back... which meant I had to buy a bottle of wine. Which I wasn’t happy about (wink, wink)!
I didn't even know this place was there, but now I'd happily go out of my way just to eat there again. If you're anywhere near Pontypridd, do not miss The Codfather!

Gatto Lounge

Breakfast is lovely
Service is very good
Unfortunately we had a party of 12 and was squeezed onto a smaller table when the table beside us was very large and only had 2 people sat at the table that were employees. Would make more sense for them to sit at a smaller table? This is not the 1st time this has happened.

Casa Bianca Pontypridd

Fabulous Italian restaurant. Superb food and service. Ellie,the manager is totally professional. Comfortable seating in a lovely restaurant.
A few things we would change: the napkins (more like tissues); the toilet locks; the music playlist; the house Sauvignon blanc. But, overall, definitely a 5-star experience.

Went to this little gem because of a tip off from a friend. Hung around after work to get in when it opened at 5.30. Service was awesome, food even better. I had the Honey Chicken with rice and the Sui Mai also. Amazing flavours, good value and will definitely go back next time I am in the area!!!

Just moved to the area and thought we'd have a chinese, this is the second one we have tried and from now on the only one we will buy from! The portions were very generous! The food was nice and hot, and also very very nice!! Will definitely be back!

Ordered a custom heart-shaped pizza that said “I ❤️ MOM” and it came out super cute! Looked great and tasted even better—crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. Such a fun and tasty way to show some love. Totally recommend!

BFC Beddau Fried Chicken

Always fantastic whenever we order from BFC. The chicken (both on the bone and mini fillets) are better than KFC in our opinion. In-fact, we rarely go to KFC anymore as the deliveries from here are always super quick and the food is fantastic!

Jamil Indian Restaurant

I have to say, we been having a Jamil for a while now and i felt like it derserves a positive review. Not often we have a takeaway, but when we do, it's Jamil as our go to! We have never ever had a bad experience, sitting in or takeaway. The food is amazing and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Our meal is always Chicken Tikka Masala and then Chicken or Lamb Makhani with pilau rice, chips and a Pewsweri naan. Thankyou guys!

A nice residential street pub. Good traditional layout, dog friendly and a little area to sit outside.

Went in for a quick pint and a big range of their otley brewery ales were on tap. Around £4 a pint, not the cheapest for the Welsh valleys but not bad. A good selection but the porter had just gone (d'oh), so had a dark IPA which was decent and as it should be.

Friendly staff and customers. One of the better valleys pubs, worth checking out.

Beddau Charcoal Grill

Our go to local kebab shop, never had a bad meal and always order using the app in advance.

BUT they always leave the jalepenos off even though you’ve requested them! So annoying!

Mike & Mary Ltd Cafe

Called in this afternoon and had some lovely food. The lady serving was so friendly to me and my daughter. She explained the menu in detail and made us feel so welcome.
The food was so reasonably priced. We had plenty on our plates. Its rare for my daughter to finish but she cleared her plate with a smile and encouragement from the lady who served us.
I'll definitely go back again or order online for delivery if I dont fancy going out.

Great food all round. It was a large order for the family coming to £50 for 2 children & 4 adults to eat. It was a quick delivery & all the food was hot & tasty. Would order here again given the opportunity.

Golden Grace Chinese Take Away & Delivery Service

I was feeling pretty low so I walked to my favourite Chinese Golden Grace.
Had only £20 in cash I ordered for me and my son and I had £6.20 change.. T sorted under £20.. +
they also put 2 fortune cookies in my bag.. Thank you for whoever at golden grace put them into my bag,

Fantastic little gem. Only just discovered this place though it has been here for a while. Just been taken over by new management. Lovely food, lovely service. Will be going back here. Great prices too.

Brynffynon Hotel

Absolutely beautiful food. Fantastic service too. Extremely warm and accommodating. The wife was particularly fond of the Mushroom soup but for me it was beef and chicken.

The patriot

A great pub, ale is restricted to the Rhymeny line up which is no problem with me. £3.30 for a pint (£3.10 for camra) is incredibly reasonable for such well-kept ale.

The export is dangerously moreish, the 'Wonky Bar' certainly earns its nickname.

TNT(formerly BT) sport is available but not sky.

Staff are very welcoming and friendly, service is quick even when the bar is busy, the fire place is a great addition and is always on when needed.

This must be the best tasting Indian Takeaway around. I will give it 5 STARS for SERVICE * TASTE * FRIENDLINESS *. Recommended ANYTIME. And you can see them cooking the food.

Domino's Pizza - Pontypridd

This is what a cafe should be. A lovely, almost Mediterranean atmosphere, great food, good portions and professional staff.
I had the Eggs Benedict today and it was perfect.
Not my first time here and definitely not the last.

Top Fry

Was told would be accepting card next week. Didn’t have my bank card on me only my phone but the lovely man inside gave me some chips for free anyway. Really appreciate the generosity! Lovely place and the food was amazing. Will come again if I’m nearby in future

Carpenters Arms

Chris, Maria and all the staff are very friendly. It's our local, but we've also made use of the amazing back room for special occasions and parties. Nothings too much trouble, great atmosphere in a thriving local pub with an amazing fire and always something on through the week. Top job guys

Always good grub, friendly staff, great service, usually quite busy lunchtime (workforces from everywhere) . If you're in Rhydfelin this is your STOP. ! (parking can be a big ask though)

Parking: Side streets available for parking, shork walk to cafe. Can be a busy road (so caution advised when pulling in/out).

Bush Inn, Llantwit Fardre

Quaint little pub that unless you knew it was there you wouldn't know about it. Shame there's no food served there however a great selections of beers and ales. Friendly service and good atmosphere. Saw that they advertised live bands, which is on a Saturday night but unfortunately I was there kn a Friday!!!

Rhi's Cafe

I had a take away breakfast and caramel latte that, was, delivered to my place of work and it was stunning and, hot and was made to what i like as a breakfast the staff are lovely and welcoming i highly reccomend new customers to visit the cafe and give it a try

Olive's Attic

Not had the food but stocks herbal and traditional teas and coffees. Lots of art for sale and quirkiness.

From being in there - it appears to have a music space with community members accessing.

Seems to be open most days but have only been there around 12-3pm ISH.

To find it on the street find the paper mache man.

The Railway Inn

Bring cash as it's King in this place, lots of space, pints are Madri, Carling and Guinness. Don't do cider so didn't pay attention.Bar staff were friendly and music ? was great.Looked like a good pool table too

The Llanover Arms

I love this place, it's so relaxing and friendly. Lots of choices of beer in a warm atmosphere and friendly customers. We love John the landlord, his sense of humour is fantastic.

The Brown Trout Pub

Booked the carvery for the family to get together. Unbelievably you can eat as much as you like at the Brown Trout,seconds is not a problem. Food was good, help yourself to veg and trimmings. The service was fantastic with the lady serving the meat going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The Christmas decorations in the bar are fantastic. We really enjoyed.

Griffin Inn

“it’s a pub, not a playground”. I wouldn’t suggest visiting here if youre under the age of 30 and/or not a local. but the established community seems friendly, and theres pool and darts. will revisit soon for a real drink

Fagins Church Village

First time here after taking our son to soft play opposite this restaurant. The food was absolutely spot on, 10 out of 10. Staff were lovely and welcoming, super cosy decor inside and felt homely.
We live in Bridgend but we will definitely be returning very soon as the food was just stunning ! Highly recommend.

Chans Fish Bar

The fish and chips here when cooked fresh is one of the best that I have had at a very reasonable price. While I was in the area this was my weekly Friday treat - sometimes twice a week ?

The owners are always very friendly and welcoming.
The food is delicious my favourite pad Thai chicken is to die for. Sooo delicious!!

Gwynns Opticians

I’ve been going to Gwyns Opticians in Pontypridd for 30 years, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. That kind of loyalty doesn’t happen by accident.
The service is consistently excellent professional, thorough, and never rushed. They actually take the time to listen, explain things properly, and make sure you’re comfortable and confident with your eye care. You’re treated like a person, not a number.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about what they do. There’s a real sense of trust built up over decades, which is priceless when it comes to your health. They’ve seen me through changes in eyesight over the years and have always been spot on with advice and solutions.
In a world where so many places feel impersonal and profit driven, Gwyns has stayed solid, reliable, and human. Thirty years of excellent care says everything that needs to be said.
Highly recommended this is how an opticians should be.

What lovely welcome we had. It's only a tiny place, but they managed to fit the seven of us in. Best food we've had si ce we arrived in country 4 days ago.It was also a trip down memory lane as both my wife and I visited the Cafe as children when went to Ponty market.Well done Carlos!

The Rickards Arms

We arrived here from London for a community group meeting. The atmosphere was fantastic. The staff really friendly and the service was excellent.
The drinks costs was blow budget.
Definitely a place to be. Would like to visit again

The Central Hotel

Good pub with Juke Box, Pool Table and also Darts, kept us happy when we were stuck there on a rainy day.
Food is ok, nothing amazing. It is noisy but not that noisy, fairly good atmosphere.

Mo's Bar

Absolutely amazing homemade Curry here, perfect amount of spice and a kick. Rice and chips compliment the sauce better than anywhere else. Compared to the curry at Stilts this is a 5 star meal and the price isn't bad at all. Best part about it is that you can have a pint or a game of pool whilst waiting for your fodd, but the wait isnt long at all either. I know its a bold statement, but its the best curry ive ever had. Well done.

Kam Hong

Well what a pleasant surprise!!! The food was delicious and made my family very happy including my fussy dad who's an ex chef and couldn't recommend the food enough! We had a lot of food with several different dishes and every one of them was very tasty. I also would like to add how polite and friendly the staff we're in there who helped me choose the best dishes. Thank you again and can't wait to try more.

Carinis Traditional Fish and Chips

Came in today and tried the standard chips fish cake and fruity curry, all exceptional especially the chips. My partner ordered the small cod which was really big for the price! She said it tasted amazing too. We also ordered 4 nuggets for the baby for which they gave her free chips! Really nice restaurant if you want to eat in too. Would definitely recommend to fill your belly over Wetherspoons. Lots of deals there too, seniors etc.

Greggs

This is a bigger branch of Greggs which has tables so you can eat and drink there. The food was as you’d expect from Greggs (in my experience, it’s pretty consistent). When we visited it was well staffed behind the counter, unlike some others of their branches.

Wing Wah

Fantastic curry sauce and chips, just what we needed after a long walk. I've had singapore noodles in the past and this was also sensational. ?. Thanks guys! ? Best in town.

New Super Fry

Moved to the area in January 23 and tried another 3 Chinese takeaway places plus here. This is by far out favourite and bar maybe one meal being a little below par it's always been very good. Had a friend down on the 12th abd we treated him, he was also really impressed with sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style. I normally go for Special fried Rice and a tub of curry sauce plus poppadoms. One time the sauce was very thick but I added some boiling water. Partner goes for king prawn kung po and is never let down. We nearly always go for salt and chilli ribs or satay chicken starters, both lovely and reheat well in the air fryer. Delivery sometimes up to an hour on busy nights but just take that into consideration. Been meaning to leave a review for ages but my mate reminded me to do it as he had such a lovely meal. So here it is.

Royal Oak

I’ve been wanting to a get a meal from the Royal Oak as recommended and wasn’t disappointed with the the Beef Curry and it was as good as the Old Jim Hongs in Mill Street.?

Pizza Delight

We order from here fairly often. The chicken shish x 2, southern fried chicken breast, salad, chips and 2 x sauces we had tonight were, quite simply, superb. Nina, front of house, is the best! Thank you. Nothing left over tonight! All gone!

Mai Wah

Nice chinese food, and it is always hot, whilst the owners are very polite people. The takeaway does home delivery within 3-4 miles. Last Order is before 10pm, and delivery charges do apply to the distance of travel for delivery.

Opening hours from 5pm to 22:20pm. Closed Sunday.

The Tumble Inn

I went back couple of weeks later today the food was hot for a change but they should do something about the air conditioning system which is on all the time. At least you can get a cheap drink here and decent meal.
