Came to the Pick and Shovel with another. We came to watch the rugby and have some food. The kitchen had just closed when they reopened it just for us. Decent loaded fries, salt&chilli wings, drinks and a few other bits. Well priced. Great service. Lots of screens for sport.

A big group of us were on a walking weekend and stayed nearby. Maria was happy to accommodate us and sorted a preorder. Once we arrived we were immediately greeted by the friendly owners and asked if the table arrangements suited us. We were also asked when we would like our food to start being prepared. Food was excellent and the team coped well catering for such a large group with everybody’s needs met perfectly. Owners and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Will be sure to return if we ever visit the area again.

Omg the Sunday lunch was outstanding piping hot fresh veg gravy to die for .the staff was so welcoming very polite, and the place was warm and cosy and it was very clean

Came here for a few drinks on Saturday night and a live band were playing. I was planning on only staying for a quick pint but the atmosphere was so good and the bar staff so welcoming I stayed for the entire evening. What an amazing pub with great people running it lovely and clean and friendly. Will definitely be making it my local

The food here is top quality, second to none. Have had Sunday lunch on many occasions. The beer is crisp and clean. Lovely Staff, always a warm welcome. If you’re new in town the locals are a great bunch and will always make you very welcome.Wheelchair accessibility: My wife uses a wheelchair, the toilets are easy accessible and always clean

My husband had cod chips and mushy peas , i had lasagne, salad, salad with the most amazing onion rings i have everhad as a side. The food was absolutely delicious. Great value for money.The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely come back and recommend to my family and friends.

Was at the pick and shovel for the first international rugby match 3 weeks ago and have been back regular since. The food there is of the highest order, the staff are so welcoming and the the atmosphere is amazing. Full of friendly people and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.
