Unfortunately service was appalling when we arrived for our afternoon tea and have our name it was followed by huffing and puffing and felt like everything was too much of an effort.Had to ask for plates, cutlery, had to ask for more tea and a spoon in the end was afraid to ask for anything as the attitude we was given was shockingHowever the scones were the best I’ve ever tasted.Maybe they were having a bad day

Lovely food here. Staff are always happy and helpful. I have come here since i was a little girl. My mother worked here for 25+ the owners are happy and helpful. Wouldn't really say its suitable for children. The atmosphere is amazing and you are always reminded of how service was like in the 60s. The interior is very retro but beautiful.

Each time we’ve been in princes it’s been overwhelmingly busy but for a very good reason! Food and service is always good and accommodating no matter how busy it gets! their coffees, pastries and breakfast are brilliant.

Going into this place is like stepping back in time. I asked if they had any vegan options and the waitress went to find out then another woman came over and said they had no vegan options and walked away. I could see from a quick look at their menu that they at least had beans on toast and jacket potato with beans but this place seems to have no desire to serve you food if you are vegan. Most cafes/restaurants these days have at least a few options labelled as vegan or they will try to rustle something simple up to accommodate you and make themselves some money.

A proud part of Pontypridd history. Great, homely, freshly-made food from pies to sandwiches to roast dinners. And a huge, yummy cake selection.Afternoon tea is huge and great value... get a doggy bag!

Very busy shop, which is an indication of a good place. I’ve been here numerous times never had a complaint until recently. I had a corned beef pasty and there was a hair inside it. It’s a shame because I really liked them but it’s put me off

This place is the gem of the Valleys. The food is wonderful, the portion sizes are large and the service is quick and friendly. Above all else, they have retained that wonderful art -deco interior which helps create lovely ambience.

Visited for afternoon tea with family and friends for a baby shower, the food was amazing, so fresh and plenty of it, by far the best afternoon tea we’ve had. There were 39 of us and the service was fabulous, William and the lovely waitresses were very accommodating and could not do enough for us, a big thank you to you all for a lovely afternoon. Would highly recommend, we couldn’t fault it.

My wife and I travelled from Llanelli to Pontypridd yesterday 24/11/23 and we found this gem. As you enter the atmosphere was superb, the selection of cakes, pastries and savoury was outstanding. The staff were very helpful. We stayed for lunch and were seen to by the waitress Barbara. She was courteous, friendly, efficient and professional. Thank you Barbara. When we visit again we will definitely call with you. Highly recommended.

Called in for a snack.Very busy, with it being a Wednesday (market day) so we went upstairs.Excellent service. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a visitor to Pontypridd.Early morning the window is full of a delightful array of cakes to eat in or take home.
