Really FANTASTIC fish and chips here I don't ever remember enjoying fish and chips so much, definitely up there with the best ever..Would 100% recommend a visit to Beales when you come to Porthcawl. Little tip, try to get a table inside the restaurant as opposed to near the front door as the door doesn't shut properly and it's not so pleasant if it's cold outside. The staff kindly moved us to a warmer table which we were very grateful for. Very, very tasty fish and the most perfect batter ever. Can't wait to eat there again!

Literally the best chip shop in Bridgend area by far. The chicken goujons in the restaurant are to die for. So so so so tasty. Would not go anywhere else for food. If i could give it 10 stars i seriously would. ? My grandparents have been a loyal customer of Beales for at least 20yrs or more and has never had one complaint about the food or anything.

Absolutely gorgeous fish and chips. Chips were fresh and thick. The fish was amazing. Lovely thick cod and very good, well cooked batter. Only improvement would be home made tartar or creamy tartar in a pot rather than sachets. Thanks guys.

Great food, freshly cooked, and plenty of portions! Loved their Irish curry sauce. It was very busy which tell you it's a great place to eat. They had a restaurant part too and busy.

Had a takeaway from Beales Saturday 9th Sept.Food was lovely but what a shame about the very unhappy lady who served us. She did not look up at all - even when she asked for money or taking our large order. I can honestly say I don't think she's happy in her job!!!

Everybody I've spoken to really rates this place, and I can see why. For traditional fish and chips, you just can't beat it. Their staff are friendly, families are welcome, and the food is fantastic.Kid-friendliness: Families are very welcome.

Food was spot on like always but there's a young man with black hair possibly still a teen and he was I credibly rude and disrespectful towards me and everything that I was with and everyone else I witnessed him serve while I was there, it's a shame because all the years I've gone to beale's they have been known not just for their amazing food but their politeness and manners and this you d man certainly had none, but the food was just as good as always
On a day trip on a wet & windy Sunday, I asked local people for the best sit-in chippie and Beales came out on top. They were right, it was very good indeed. Friendly waitress service, a choice of half chips/half salad with my cod and a bottle of Magners to wash it down. Huge fish portion with crisp fluffy batter, nice chips and fresh mixed salad. The whole place looked clean & tidy; the only drawback was that it seemed to have only one lavatory for all the customers. If I ever go back to Porthcawl I'll definitely go back to Beales. Thank you also to the Rusty Cauldron for the tip-off.

The fish and chips at Beale's are likely the best in Porthcawl. The choice of fish is great, and the preparation time for take out is excellent. The service is okay. I've worked in the service industry (still do to an extent), and upon returning to the car, I shared my opinion to my wife: "the staff look like they'd been slapped by a wet fish" A smile goes a long way, and the serving staff, while I'm sure are lovely people, looked like automatons and didn't exactly provide that "service with a smile" which helps to brighten everyone's day.Still, can't question the taste of the dishes here, that's why I keep going back!
