I went to the bar to order drinks for me and my boyfriend and the bald owner said to his bar staff “no way are you serving this girl she’s too drunk” so they poured my drink out of my hand (bear in mind I’d only had 1 drink prior to this). I was about to leave the pub then I looked at the bar and the owner was refusing to serve anyone else (10:30pm on a Saturday) guessing he’s refusing to serve anyone unless it suits him. Won’t be returning

My local since 1985. No better place to sit out and watch the world pass by in the summer. Always a great pint and reasonable prices. Staff always friendly

Had from the specials board...beef and ale pie... homemade and absolutely delicious... packed to the brim with solid chunks of beef... amazing value for money... would never normally leave a review but I'll make an exception as it tastes so good... compliments to the pie man ❤️

Absolute terrible. Our family of 10 regularly go on holiday to Porthcawl. It was the first time we had been there as other restaurants were very busy. On the specials board we ordered a meal advertised for 6 pounds. When ordering they said no it was 9 pounds and went straight to the board and changed it. They refused to honour the initial advertised price and 3 members of staff made it clear that it was at the higher price and said if you want it pay it or don't have it. I question to myself was 3 pounds worth reputation and word of mouth worth it. Will never use it again.

Staff great, good choice of drinks lovely setting but food very overpriced don't mind if I'm getting a good meal but a big disappointment.

We always visit the Waterfront when we are in Porthcawl, the staff are very welcoming and attentive, the food is excellent and prices are very reasonable. Coffee and cake is also very good value. Only one complaint....the toilet roll dispensers don't work properly! So before we enter the Waterfront we always visit the toilets at the Pavilion. They are very clean (as they are at the Waterfront!) and in addition they have toilet dispensers that allow you to catch hold of the toilet paper easily! I'm giving the Waterfront 5 stars because apart from one complaint we love it there. Hope they sort out the toilet dispensers soon!!

We stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend, first impressions while being shown upstairs to the room were not great, stairs and hallways defiantly need attention, But I must say once the room door opened we was pleasantly surprised, clean nice size room with a nice modern bathroom. bed was comfy slept well all weekend. we had a meal the first night which was very good and well priced, breakfast was excellent and all the staff were great, always happy to help and advise, will defiantly return next time we visit Porthcawl.

TREATED UNFAIRLY! What should have been an enjoyable afternoon with her parents and Grandmother celebrating my daughter's (soon to be 17) exam results turned into an unpleasant experience. She had a meal and a fruit cider when were approached during our meal in front of others stating she was not allowed the drink. The 2003 licensing law states it is legal with a meal and an accompanying adult but we were told that they have their own rules! I am sure anyone would agree that they should advertise and state on the menus and inside at the bar if they don't agree with the law and are different from any other resuraunts. The lady stood over us waiting for us to remove her drink. The wind also blew one of their laminated menus into my glass which was heavy enough to knock the glass onto the floor. It felt as if it all stemed from that incident as all the staff were outside looking over and checking on us. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Also the ham sandwich ordered was disappointing standard bread and a tiny bit of lettuce for £7.50. Had the same sandwich a couple of years ago there and the bread was a lovely club sandwich with better quality bread and more substantial. Not intending on returning for any meals.

We LOVE The Waterfront! Last night we decided to eat out and took advantage of the 'Friday Grill Night'. As always, the staff were excellent and, even though it was particularly busy, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was superb - we opted for the Creamy Mexican Chicken and it was cooked to perfection. Thank you to all the staff - you are the best!

This was a last minute and it was well worth it, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing there were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our starter and main meal. Will defiantly go again and would highly recommend.
