Cafes in Porthmadog

“Visited this place on several occasions and always make a special trip to enjoy a meal here when we stay in Barmouth. This is hands down one of the best places for food; not just locally. Lovely atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff and top notch food!”

“Friendly welcoming service. We arrived as a party of 10 for lunch without booking and tables were quickly reorganised to accommodate us. The food was excellent and good value.”

“This is a Fabulous place. I have been coming to this establishment in it's various incarnations since 1978. The food is always good. Often excellent. There are cakes, sandwiches, Pies, pasties and my personal favourite the Breakfast. If you're ever in Porthmadog drop in and try it.”

“I found this cafe last year by accident in Porthmadog. It isn’t an artisan frothy coffee kind of place, it’s a good old down to earth cafe. I’ve eaten in the more than 10years and the food has always been good cafe food at a fair price. It’s a cafe serving good cafe food. Please don’t expect doilies or fluffy cakes, just good home cooked food where you can see the kitchen and yes you can smell the oil of the cooking food.”

“Visited here on two separate occasions - first time was from a recommendation at the start of the holiday. First we went for lunch, arrived at 11:15 and told lunch orders would take place from 11:30, ended up being 11:50 by time we weee actually served. I had a Steak, Onion & Gravy Baguette (incredible!!) and my partner had Ham, Egg & Chips.. both superb! On the second visit a few days later we went for breakfast - we both had the Port Special, very quick service, food came out after about 5 mins amazing. The meals were great but the toast was black, not edible at all, such a shame as the breakfast itself was tasty and piping hot/fresh. Next time we are in the area this would be the first place I’d go for food!”
