Turned up here looking for food on a Sunday at 1.30pm to be met with a closed sign. Both Google and their own website said they were open until 3pm. If a business can't be bothered to open at their advertised time or update their opening times then they don't deserve the business.

I found this cafe last year by accident in Porthmadog. It isn’t an artisan frothy coffee kind of place, it’s a good old down to earth cafe. I’ve eaten in the more than 10years and the food has always been good cafe food at a fair price. It’s a cafe serving good cafe food. Please don’t expect doilies or fluffy cakes, just good home cooked food where you can see the kitchen and yes you can smell the oil of the cooking food.

Went for coffee sat at a table and it was greasy so sat at another and that was sticky so walked out .The decor was the same as previous owners old dirty and greasy walls .No effort to revamp by new owners.Very disappointed and I'd rather support a small business like this but only if effort is put into to tidying up the place.

The full cooked breakfast was generous and the coffee was good. The two ladies, one did the cooking and the other was waitressing. were both friendly and the service was quick. For the first ten minutes or so, I was the only customer, until two others came in. This could be partly due to the café being on a side street off the main street and not easily visible. The portions were quite generous but sadly the breakfast was not the best experience.

Went for a quick breakfast before getting the train. How mistaken we were. Over 2 hours to get served food when there was only 8 people in the cafe. Got the feeling we wasn't welcome as we were English. Avoid

Below standard breakfast. Smell of a greasy spoon lingered through the place. Breakfast was cooked in 10 mins. Hair in egg. Dirty cutlery, dirty glass. Won't go back again. Felt very uncomfortable.

After walking around Porthmadog for over an hour trying to find somewhere where we could go in with our dogs, we looked through the door of this establishment to see it completely empty. We started to walk away then a lady beckoned us with the promise that they were doing Sunday dinners. I explained that I have a gluten allergy and she assured me that the gravy was gluten free. So reluctantly we sat down and ordered two roast beef dinners. The lady then commented that she couldn’t stand gluten free food as she didn’t like the taste !!. When the food was served I couldn’t believe what I saw, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese. All contain gluten. I commented on this and the lady didn’t have a clue, she really didn’t know how bad this could make someone like me seriously ill. I asked for a side plate and removed the offending articles. I then carried on eating what was left as by this time was completely starving. With hindsight we should of walked away as cross contamination got me and gave me a bad belly, completely my fault I know. The staff here should be made aware of allergies and the consequences of what could happen by getting it wrong. Maybe a visit from the hygiene department to explain would help. Coeliac’s beware, not a place for you !
