Visited The Union Inn whilst on holiday in Wales with my Husband and Parents, we all had Lamb shanks OMG absolutely amazing meat fell off the bone, we had puddings as well we all had different puddings but all amazing. Staff so welcoming could not fault the service would definitely recommend a visit.

Found this great little pub, whilst touring the coast of Wales. Great staff, especially the barman who served us on both evenings we dined there. We had such exceptional service on the first night, hence our return the following when we also partook in the pub quiz. Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming. Food was delicious and good value. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting this area.

We visited the Union Inn in Tremadog on two occasions whilst staying in nearby Porthmadog. We drove here and there is street parking available in the ‘Market Square’ but this is limited though we were fortunate to get parked on both visits. The Union Inn is a large traditional looking public house with two separate bars and a small restaurant area to the rear. We formed the opinion that one of the bars is for the ‘locals’ and the second for visitors to the area. On our first visit we reserved a table for two and sat in the restaurant area and this is very light and pleasant. The menu is fairly comprehensive with a good choice of pub classics and also some more substantial meals, my wife had the Mushroom Stroganoff and I had the Three Bean chilli. Both meals came in a reasonable time after ordering and were of a good portion size likely to satisfy most appetites. For dessert we had the fruit crumble, again of a good portion size. The bar has a good selection of drinks and some ales from the local brewery went down well with the meal. The staff that we came into contact with were helpful and approachable. We enjoyed our visit here and so chose to return the following evening, this time without a booking and was fortunate enough to be squeezed into a table in the bar area. We would certainly consider coming here again if we were to revisit the area.

Week stay in Tremadog, was thinking we'd have to walk to/from Port for pint every night. Not a bit of it, best pub in area on doorstep. Lovely landlady, boss staff, sound locals, really well kept real ale. Two engines, local breweries, no complaints. Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff, the food was delicious, especially minted lamb steak, gammon steak. A good gluten free menu

Great place went here a few times on our holiday for food. Staff recommended what food to go for and also had a list of all the food they could do gluten free. Portion size was filling but still had room for pudding. Staff were great to talk to and were friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Booked for a group of 11, Staff were very helpful. They went out of their way to look after my 3 year old who really wanted some pickles lol. Food was bought out promptly and was delicious. Highly recommended

What a wicked, evil woman! Chicken that bled, ignored when I complained to the 12 year old waiter. After 20 mins the manageress arrived and accused me of making a fuss and swearing at the child waiter. I was so upset that this was said as it was totally untrue. I asked for the bill as she charged me £86 for 2 starters and 4 soft drinks. I told her that I was as not paying this and she threatened me with the police and called me a typical scouse robber. I have never been so appalled. I told her to get the police as I had evidence of the food and her abuse, she screamed at us including my young kids to get out amongst a load of obscenities. I have never in my life been so verbally abused, but I have since discovered that this is her forte, especially with the threat of the police. Please be warned. Stay away from the Union Inn!!!!

£1.32 per baguette slice of garlic bread ?????? To be fair the food was good pub food. Nice thick butchers gammon chop and good deserts. But £3.95 for 3 mouthfuls of garlic bread is outrageous. We had 4 plates of 3 pieces for £15.80 !!!! Could have bought enough garlic bread from Tesco to feed Porthmadog with that !!

Solid. Typical pub grub in a typical pub. There’s no frills but there are good beers, decent food and friendly staff. Prices are pretty reasonable too.

Never felt so unwelcome. We lasted all of 3mins inside this place. We were the first people through the door at 5pm. A family of four looking for an evening meal, the place was empty. The rude staff on two occasions instructed us that we could only sit in a particularly old dingy and dirty table for 4, even though we could see an area that looked much cleaner. We were literally made to feel like second class citizens. Everything felt old dirty and unwelcoming. We therefore went over the road to ‘The Golden Fleece’ and although all there tables were marked as reserved they made us feel very welcome, explained that they needed the table back at set time (no issues) and found us a lovely table. Whole place was really clean and food was great. Glad we got up and walked out of the ‘Union Inn’ (never been made to feel more uncomfortable in my life. Stay well away.
