Avoid it ....its like the living dead in here.Miserable women on the till,I thought she was just having a bad day until I read the other reviews!!. Looks like they had lessons off Basil Fawlty for customer service. Trust me....take a packed lunch.

Party of six … looking for some lunch on a rainy day in Porthmadog. Outside looked modern entered and was like being in a time warp. Place was empty apart from a a family who where leaving before ordering anything… should have taken this as a warning sign. We were immediately told that we could not sit together so given was an empty cafe we chose two tables next to each other, despite the lady stood glumly at the till their was no service which is fine, we ordered from the till….. I’m not sure if this was usual service or they was not keen on English customers as she did become a bit livelier when a Welsh speaking customer arrived! Whilst seated another family walked in and left immediately. Food mediocre at best for the price, a supermarket meal deal would have been nicer! Very strange and unwelcoming atmosphere, so much so it’s difficult to describe as never experience anything like it …AVOID

Appearance from the outside was very nice and clean looking. However, the reception from the staff was very poor and surly. The lady informed us that our party of 7 could not sit at the same table (despite the restaurant being also empty). We ordered at the till after figuring out that it was not waitress service, only to be informed that the kitchen could not handle meals for a party of 7 and needed to be 2 separate orders?! When the food arrived, it was roast dinners with tinned (or frozen) peas and carrots as the veg. Mash tasted like instant and the roasties were cold. The all day breakfast included cheap, tasteless bacon and sausage with over cooked egg. Toast was charged at 90p a slice and was nothing special. Toilets were not clean and had mould. Overall a disappointing experience. There was nothing to recommend about this place.

The food was shocking! The kids both had roast dinner and they never turn their noses up at roast dinners but they did at this. Rock hard peas, the mash potato had no taste. My mum had the prawn sandwich and she said it was chewy…half the stuff we asked for wasn’t available either, you would think that with amount of time it had taken to make food it was all done fresh but it wasn’t. While we were sat there they were turning customers away from 2pm and honestly lucky for those customers. The prices don’t match the quality of the food.

Good food but didn't have the first 5 items requested that were on the menu or advertised as a special. The staff seemed disinterested. If it hadn't been pouring with rain we probably would have left.Vegetarian options: None advertised but they did have a few optionsDietary restrictions: We didn't have any but were not asked

Don't walk past this place, the food is amazing. We've popped in for lunch every time were in town for the last 5 years and wouldn't eat anywhere else. Good value, good service and very good food.

We called in for lunch and had sandwiches with chips and drinks. The service was friendly and food was decent enough. We were happy with our visit.

Looking for somewhere nice to eat, sadly this wasn't it! Nice lady at the till, ordered pot of tea for two, haddock, chips and peas. Tea was OK, however, we were served with an overcooked, frozen breaded haddock, very crunchy and dry, lots of frozen chips and peas! For a frozen meal, very highly priced! Will not return!

We ordered an all day breakfast at five in the evening. Bacon and sausage were tasty as usually they are all over the country. I found the mushrooms extremely delicious, juicy and fresh. The hash browns too very cooked just right. The service was a little slow, probably because of the crowd, but it worth the wait.

Nice modern frontage, hence the reason we went in! Entered an awkward, almost library-esque environment were everything was at right angles and the welcome was unnerving. Coffee was really nice and it's worth visiting if only to see the "chandelier " hanging from the middle of the ceiling. Awesome!!!

Racist owners. Terrible place that you wouldn't believe existed if you hadn't been there. Seems they hate the English. Even more so if you are black or of colour. Disgusting. We had a person in our party who can understand your welsh, just so you know! Like going back in time. Needs burning to the ground with the owners preferably locked inside. So angry about the prejudice shown and exhibited, oh and food was absolutely terrible too.

The worst cafe in Porthmadog. Extremely overpriced and poor quality food and the owner is the most miserable man ever serving. No wonder this place was empty! Avoid at all costs.
