One of the best dinners we have ever had. 20+ courses on the tasting menu. All had interesting flavours and textures that could be enjoyed in a few mouthfuls. Forceps as cutlery for some courses was an innovation! Great drinks list. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with views out over the garden and beyond.

Totally unique experience. Eye wateringly expensive…but for a once in a lifetime event then worth it.Food & drinks: 25 - 30 separate dishes, all served with different plating and utensils. Prepare to be delighted!

Everything was very tasty, though it is worth noting that almost every dish is raw fish. I would have preferred the prawns in my green curry to have been cooked. The tongue in cheek climax of the night is a single bite of medium rare wagyu burger, strobe-lit disco music, a lighter fluid doused drum barrel set on fire outside the window, and a chef wafting about a bowl of wood smoke.I must say I felt the butt of the joke. I'm sure it's all part of chef's personal evolution, but the burger was the plate I most enjoyed, and the restaurant seemed to be telling me that it was perfectly capable of catering for me, but the closest it cared to come was showing me a waste of good firewood and literally blowing smoke in my face. But no hard feelings, it was a very clever putdown that I appreciated experiencing, if not always eating.I know I was the wrong audience for this menu, and I'm sorry to deduct one star for something so subjective, but such was my experience. There are strictly no alterations to the menu, which is fair enough.Nearby activities: The RSPB bird sanctuary is a ten minute walk and really lovely.

Fabulous experience. I could post pictures of the sublime food but it wouldn't do it justice, you need to taste to understand. The team that looked after us, and everyone else, were amazeballs! Special shout out to Ollie, thank you for looking after us.

It's quite an experience. The staff make you feel welcome and looked after throughout. Every aspect of the food and restaurant and rooms feels like it was carefully considered. And the food is outstanding in every way.The next morning, after they eviscerate you with the drinks bill and service charge, they send you off with a delicious ham and cheese roll (probably some ridiculous quality iberico and an unpronounceable cheese) and a very tasty coffee in a little branded travel mug.

One of the best dining experiences of my life began with a snack of sourdough soaked in rich onion gravy while we checked-in to this restaurant with rooms in northern Wales. Dinner was 20 spectacular tiny courses with excellent customised wine matches. Then we slept in a beautiful grotto-like room with huge picture windows, before an amazing breakfast. Book the kitchen bench for the full Ynyshir experience!Rooms: I love the 'grotto' room downstairs looking out at a moss covered rockface. Spacious with beautiful furniture and fabrics.Food & drinks: Unique - simply one of the best meals of my life (two if you include breakfast)!

Everything about this place is amazing, from the friendly staff, setting, to the familiar food done to an incredibly high standard, music, and a room upstairs to deal with the ensuing food coma bliss???

After seeing this place on James Martin's uk tour with Stephen Terry, must book for my birthday in February.

This is the only restaurant I have been to where I’ve been threatened by the ‘chef’ because I questioned the food…I say threatened and I mean to the point where the Police were

The most amazing experience. Wow. Wow wow.Obviously the food is mind blowing. …. Also….Fantastic staff, from the front of house, Rory, quietly confident and fun knowledgeable Alice. The chefs and DJ all engaging and having a good time which creates such an amazing vibe. I feel so lucky to have been to this place. The stunning scenery & room needs a mention too!
