It was relatively quiet and the room was charming. However, you could not close the door to the bathroom, the matresses were extremely old and I could hear scratching sounds from within the walls or roof (rats ?). Also the main light did not work and the room was very small.

We stayed at the Crown for 3 nights. I have to say that I as very disappointed with the room. I wish that they had put more effort into the accommodation. The towel rail was hanging off the wall in the bathroom. The shower tray flooded when I had a shower. There were markings on the wall behind the toilet and the skirting was dirty and needed a wipe down. Behind the television was thick with dust. The skirting in the bedroom needed a wipe. The bed was okay but the pillows was so thin I had to give my husband one of mine. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. The radiator was constantly on eventhough the switch was on zero. The stairs leading up to the rooms were not practical. No one asked us if everything was okay. The room was advertised with free WiFi but it was not always available. I won't be returning to stay at this accommodation. However I cannot fault the food in all 3 premises which was run by the same company. The staff were polite and the food was lovely.I felt that the accommodation was not their priority but to me it most certainly should be.I have given 4 stars not for the room but for the food.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch for under £13 each at the Crown this week. It was excellent value for a generous amount of meat, veggies, and a big Yorkie. We loved the fact that it was accompanied by a huge gravy boat, which ensured an excellent gravy-to-meat ratio. Staff were also extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and we're looking forward to our next visit.

I recently visited The Crown In and had a fantastic experience. The drinks were well-crafted, and the pub had an impressive selection of both local and international brews. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing top-notch customer service throughout my visit. The cosy ambience and lively atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend The Crown In for everyone! and outstanding service !

Went with my daughter fir my birthday ....it was very cold kept our coats on .another table asked for a heater .the food took 45 mins for a grilled sandwich and baked potato to arrive.and the sandwich was half the size of a normal sandwich and grilled so hard it was difficult to eat .though my daughter enjoyed her potato though limited choice of toppings . Lovely place inside but wouldn't go again for lunch .

The most darling little place! We had been on a 7 hour trek and were in desperate need of food. After trying elsewhere with no luck, the waitress here seated us, no trouble, and I am so glad she did.Never have I ever eaten such a delicious meal and dessert. I cannot fault this place. The service was fantastic, the bill for 2 meals, 2 desserts, 6 drinks and a large tip was still under £100.We plan on returning to Rhayader in the summer months and we will without-a-doubt be coming back here.Thank you so much. Fantastic dining experience. My only regret is that we didn't get the waitresses' names to pass on our joy to management.

Nice little pub and does some nice food, only a small amount of tables though. Price wise it was really good.

Very small pub in the village however the bar lady was very welcoming and polite and the prices were a lso very reasonable. The food itself was nice and what you would expect of pub grub and overall had no complaints.

Lovely cosy Inn, out for lunch and this was the perfect place, lovely and warm, friendly staff and the food was fabulous, I can heartily recommend the Fish & Chips from the lunch light bite menu, fabulous portion and the food was very tasty. If you are in Rhayader for lunch then I would definitely recommend coming here.

Must say what an amazing stay and value! Can’t fault the room for the price. Others may say not perfect but for £32 for an evening I was very impressed!!!The food, drink, service and overall experience was great ? Pub Grub at its best

We went for a meal, table of 4. Our greeting was warm and friendly where we were shown to our table in a timely fashion. Our waitress for the evening delivered menus and took our drinks order. When taking our food order she shared a laugh and a joke as I am always a little indecisive when deciding what to have.To say we were impressed by our starters would be an understatement. Our plates were swiftly removed and shortly after our mains were delivered. Again, to our delight the quality was superb as was the size of our meals.I would highly recommend The Crown as somewhere to go to eat.

Very impressed with this place. The pub was cosy and the food was impressive. I had the lamp rump which was so tender and my wife had the duck which was equally as good. The staff were very attentive and we had a great evening. Would certainly recommend going here.
