Old Drill Hall, Bridge St, RhayaderAbsolutely fantastic Sunday roast and smoothie. Could not ask for more. Lovely staff, great location that you can go for a post lunch walk along the river. Probably the best roast I've ever had, with delicious vegetarian options.

Wild Swan Whole Foods
4 West St, RhayaderWe have been in the town for only two weeks but have already been to Wild Swan several times. The coffee is amazing and good value. The bread is delicious as are the home made cakes and quiches.If you haven't been then you have missed out. Go on and try it out.

Penbont House Tearooms & Bed & Breakfast
Penbont House, Elan Valley, RhayaderFabulous cafe in a beautiful setting. We often come here when we visit the Elan Valley. The food is excellent, lovely coffee and cakes. Staff are friendly, professional with service with a smile.

Marteg Bridge Lay-by, A470, RhayaderExcellent alternative to Gregg's services down the road. If you want to queue for food while they serve customers at a rate of 1 every 5 mins then go to Gregg's. If you want a quality roadside cafe, quick and courteous service and fair prices then go a further few miles north and thank me later. This will definitely be my go-to rest break when I'm in this part of the country from now on.Kid-friendliness: Kids are generally friendly I find.Parking: Ample

Glyndwr's Way DIY Porch Cafe
Bwlch Y Sarnau Community Center, Bwlch Y Sarnau, RhayaderWhat a thoughtful and forward thinking village you must be to offer a porch with hot drink making facilities and WC for travellers passing by on Glyndwr's Way. It gave us a warm feeling about the kindly and sharing community we were passing through and a smile on our faces for miles.

The Crown Inn
4 North St, RhayaderWe had a fantastic Sunday lunch for under £13 each at the Crown this week. It was excellent value for a generous amount of meat, veggies, and a big Yorkie. We loved the fact that it was accompanied by a huge gravy boat, which ensured an excellent gravy-to-meat ratio. Staff were also extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and we're looking forward to our next visit.

Brasserie at the Elan
Elan Hotel, West Street, RhayaderThe hotel is spotless. The management and all the staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and the hotel is ideally situated being accessible to local amenities and tourist spots. The room was at the back, overlooking a mountain with red kites flying quite close. Breakfast was perfect with everything needed. The downside is the beds are not made by hotel staff and bedding not changed.

Spice Hut
North St, RhayaderGreat restaurant. About 10 of us from the motorbike club came here Saturday night as nowhere in Rhayader seems to be able to cope with a big table on a weekend evening. Vlad looked after us real well, made us feel vey welcome. The food came out pretty quick and was spot on. Everyone enjoyed the food and the ambiance - we had a great evening there. Highly recommended, both for a decent curry and especially for big groups.Vegetarian options: Good choices

Lamb and Flag Inn-Bar-Grill
North St, RhayaderLooking for a quick bar snack midway through our journey and although we were right on the wire when the kitchen was meant to close the staff allowed us to order our food which ultimately delayed them in closing and for that we were really grateful and it was tasty

4 North St, RhayaderAs a chicken nugget connoisseur, I have to say these are THE best I have ever had. The chicken is fresh and the batter is lovely. The chips were also amazing. Most definitely recommend to anyone in the area :)
