We visited for Sunday lunch today. Sorry to say we were disappointed. Our phone booking had not been completed. We were lucky to get a table (which was reserved for another name). We were served the wrong meal. The requested separate gravy was in a jug on the plate in a pool of gravy covering the whole meal.Mint sauce was dumped & spilt on the table.Service was perfunctory from the younger staff, one of whom appeared not to know the answers to any questions.Roast potatoes were awful. Under cooked & not crispy. Buried under a pile of meat.We aren’t in the habit of complaining but we both felt unwell when we got home.On the positive side the meat was tasty & veg well cooked.Sorry.

It's been a good while since I visited the Griffin. So many people said we should, so, on a whim, we visited on a Friday night. Staff were really lovely, found us a quiet table and the food was really excellent! The venue has been refurbished in such a tasteful way. It feels homey and comfortable with beautiful natural features like exposed stone walls, fireplaces, and wooden floors, which make you feel right at home. The menu has a great variety of foods, including veggie options, something a little fancier if that's what you're after but also really great casual 'pub food' with great portion sizes. We'll definitely be back!

No sea views, tiny double bed in a room not big enough to swing a cat in. Owners petty, small minded, rude and over dramatic. Even found a half chewed sweet under my bed! Disgusting place. Only worth £10 a night and that's if the seventh circle of hell isn't available.
