What a really nice pub ? my only complaint is that I probably won't go there again. Friendly and helpful staff ? and the house beer is to die for. Pat yourselves on the back you are doing a fantastic job ?

Stopped in after a hike up the hills for a drink and food. Very quick and polite service and the food was cooked quick and very hot and fresh. Some good local ales on. Very good prices and the beer garden was busy and still they kept on top of serving people.

Such a lovely pub and atmosphere with a great location and good food. However the man who works on the bar is so miserable he can't even force himself to say hello it's painful to walk in which is such a shame!

We live locally in Caerwys and I recently discovered the white horse inn in Cilcain, it was closed at the time but it looked like an absolutely beautiful place, a hidden gem, so i planned to bring my family for a lunch the next weekend it was open. Today we turned up and my family were blown away with how nice the place looked and how nice the pub itself looked. When we got to the bar we were greeted with stern faces, no pleasantries and rushed into ordering drinks, when we asked for a couple of samples of the ale on offer it seemed as though we'd asked them to sell the pub and it was all to much trouble. We left a tip which was less than graciously recieved and thrown into the pot. We sat down and I went to ask for menus, I was ignored twice after politely asking. I don't know if they were just having a bad day or they just couldn't be bothered, or possibly our Liverpool accents offended them. I appreciate the fact that places get busy, I appreciate the fact that people can't be two places at once, but feeling totally unwelcome and ignored is quite offensive and is not what hospitality is about. So all in all we came away without finishing our drinks and feeling pretty disappointed after looking forward to a nice afternoon there, not a very pleasant experience and they lost business as we decided not eat there and go elsewhere to spend our money .

Never fails to disappoint ... our favourite place to eat. Cosy traditional pub, lovely staff and homemade food is delicious. See you soon.

Just about the worst landlord I have ever come across in my life. Married couple I think, or assumed due to the attitude of them both towards each other and us as customers. We came here as a group of 4 friends after walking in the lovely countryside in Wales, desperately hungry and thirsty. When we came in we received foul looks, like we shouldn't be there. When we asked if there was space (nobody else was there) the very rude landlord scoffed and said "what do you think". We could then hear them both bicker behind the bar so we left. I don't even think they noticed. Terrible owners.

Worst ever ruined the whole celebration do not go if you have more than 4 people and you have to decide what you want to eat for a large group 2 days in advance. And if you like to sit like sardines then you will be OK. Waiter service no. As you have to pass your own food down the table as you can't fit anything past the chairs ruined the whole celebration of my mum and dad's 60th wedding anniversary. So upset ?oh and my husband wanted a omelette buy they wouldn't do as to switch the grill on would cost to much for 1 omelette ?

Lovely service and beers, not to mention the amazing food (we had the turkey pot pie and mint lamb shank, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert). Brilliant pub!
