Pub first, restaurant second. Why there was 00's dance music for a restaurant setting I'll never know; seriously overpriced bad

Stopped here for a pint and food after an 11 mile hike, awesome pie that really hit the spot and decent beer. Service was really good, proper pub, nice place!

Really lovely Christmas meal with a big group of people. Staff so friendly and went the extra mile to give us a good experience. Food so very yummy, everyone was chuffed and the servers worked hard to get plates out. Can deffo recommend.

I was having difficulty finding a child friendly venue for a family meal - somewhere relaxed where children would not disturb other diners! The staff went to great lengths to meet my needs and I can't thank them enough for a wonderful afternoon. While the food was not quite cordon bleu it was hot, tasty and very acceptable and I think there were ten clean plates despite some rather fussy eaters! The service was excellent. Thank you to all the staff who made this such a good experience for me and my family.

Firstly the facts. A table of 4 was booked at The Old Barn for Sunday Lunch at 1pm. We arrived at ten to one. The Christmas decorations and cozy atmosphere were lovely and we sat down at our table. We ordered two starters and three of us chose the standard Sunday Lunch as a main course. The starters arrived at 1.40 and were polished off quick enough. We then waited well over 30 minutes to get the main meals and as one of our party ordered a soup and a dessert and both were unavailable, we decided not to wait any longer and left the restaurant just after 3pm. No dessert no coffee. The table alongside us staged a similar strategic retreat midway through their meal presumably for the same reason. The restaurant was at 30% capacity. The food wasn't bad but neither was it exceptional. The waiting was incredibly frustrating and unnecessary. And with a set menu and a half empty restaurant there really is no excuse. We will be voting with our feet and are unlikely to go through a repeat performance.

Great meals and service. Very quiet for a Friday night we thought though.

Staff friendly . Menu said tripple cooked chips,Got French fries and they still charged full price. Hunters chicken was flat and half the size of evening portion few months back. Took long time to cook considering they were not peeling potatoes and kids only had chicken nuggets. If your after basic expensive food then ideal for lunch

Great Welcome and Brilliant Service We dropped in for a quick supper before attending a wedding reception. Such a warm welcome and seated immediately in the old Barn area of the Inn. The owner is a lovely woman who spent time to tell us about the history of the building and the food was just what you would expect of piping hot, pub fare nicely presented, quick to the table and tasty. Would recommend for families, couples alike and at a sensible budget. Also very dog friendly.

Friendly and welcoming. Family of four with 2 teenagers (the hungry type) - curry, hunters chicken and fajitas all got great reviews. Easy to sit and have a pint and game of cards after as well.

Lovely country pub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff serving tasty food at good prices and a good selection of beverages.Nice to sit inside or on the decking, but my favourite is the picnic benches next to the little river that flows through the grounds.

Been here a few times over the last year. Food is always excellent. Most recently we went for Sunday lunch and it was a proper home cooked roast, which is nice to see with so many pubs serving "meals at scale" which means lower quality. The service was friendly and polite, however, I think due to staffing issues, we found ourselves having to ask multiple times for things (drinks, desert menus, take dessert order etc). I believe this was due to them being so busy they were concentrating on getting mains out to other tables, so the other service got put to the back of the queue. The only other point is that the kids meals are very expensive. £10 for fish fingers and chips for example, to me this is unnecessary and a potential mental block for people booking. Given how kids meals are such a small percentage of the total bill, it would be a shame to lose custom because of the belief that people are being overcharged for their kids food.Giving the benefit of the doubt though on a temporary staffing issue, I'd still recommend call in if you're looking for good quality food. ?Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming of our 14 month old. And did everything they could to make dining with a child a nice experience. However please please consider changing the pricing of your kids meals
