I live very close, and have had many takeaways here, they have always been excellent. Everyone in Welshpool eats here, it's the best chinese food in the area, by far. I can honestly report that the roast pork and duck fried rice, and the sweet and sour chicken are both incredible. Always great service, very quick, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. This is the best takeaway in the area, and one of the only ones that sells real coca-cola instead of pepsi. Ignore the trolls at the kebab shop and their fake bad reviews for this place.

Visited 2nd December (take-away) ghastly food. Swimming in fat. Do not use this establishment. The prices are high and the food is kept in insulated bags until you pick it up. Awful, awful.

food wasn’t cooked properly, sauce was extremely weak and runny. Service Laxey Daisy, not friendly whatsoever. Price is too high and with a one star food hygiene I’m not surprised

Over priced poor quality food. Showing a 5 Food Hygiene Rating in the window when Food Standards Agency given them a 1 Food Hygiene Rating! I wouldn't of eaten there if I known this before. Food tastes like slime and sauces like water.

A very low quality takeaway meal.Chow mein dish - the noodles were greasy and unpleasant. The prawns had not been properly cleaned, with parts of vein still in them.Quarter duck: was not shredded duck, it was duck breast that has been diced, which seems a cheap way to sell the dish.The large vegetable spring rolls were 100% bean sprouts, no other veg, which was pretty odd but maybe that's normal, I'm not sure.Overall it was a well-below-average Chinese takeaway. Would not recommend.
Found Golden Bamboo while staying in the area, which we do regularly. A very good takeaway with easy order process and very quick turnaround. Food has been very good. Menu is good and focuses generally on Chinese and Cantonese standards, though, cooked really well. Have been back twice since the first visitThe Golden Bamboo team is very friendly with a clean environment
