1221Cefn, Buttington, Trewern, WelshpoolWent here for our anniversary meal and had an amazing experience.
The staff were very attentive from the moment we arrived and made the whole evening feel special. They’d even taken the time to decorate the table beforehand, which was a really nice touch and not something you see everywhere.
Food was spot on as well — fresh, well presented and full of flavour.
Proper good service and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

The Monkey Puzzle
6 Cumberland Pl, WelshpoolWhat a gem of a place to find in Welshpool in the town centre, hidden behind buildings but worth the find. Not your general run of the mill cafe and so detached and far from a greasy spoon you can get, this is a really special place, good value for money, good quality food, no grease on the breakfasts at all and served piping hot and a really good service given, the lady who served, very special person indeed and a credit to the business, service with a great smile. When back in Wales will come again. If lived nearby this would be my go to cafe.

Coco Coffee House
34 Broad St, WelshpoolStaff were lovely when we visited, very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food was a bit hit and miss for me. The cheese toastie had no cheese in it, and the leek and potato soup was quite bland. That said, my boyfriend really enjoyed his wrap, which was delicious. A shame, as the service was great.

Silver Fish Restaurant Welshpool
6 Berriew St, WelshpoolLooked at a different chippy up road and the reviews said to come to this one and it didn’t disappoint! The chips were nice and fluffy with a slight crisp, the fish batter is light and not flaky which is what I prefer. The place has loads of seating which is a bonus! They do a range of different menu items like roast dinners and breakfast. Pricing is very reasonable, would recommend this place to anyone!

The Oak Inn
Guilsfield, WelshpoolIf you are looking for a country pub that is welcoming whilst also a hub of the community this pub is for you. The real ales on offer are superbly kept.
The Indian restaurant produces fabulous meals and whether you are eating in or taking away the value is very good.
The pub does have one draw back, I time flies too quickly when having a drink with friends ?

Baba Ali Pizza & Kebab
19 Broad St, WelshpoolThe brothers there treated us really well, allowing us to do salah inside the shop.
They advised except the pizzas, everything 3lse was halal.
The food was good, and like all Turkish food places, the quantity was more than enough.
We went for chef special, intended for 3 people, but it could easily feed for, or maybe even 5.

The Tuck Box
10 Hall St, WelshpoolWe happened upon it by chance after a long journey; the restaurant is very small but quaint, well finished and simple.
The staff friendly and the service very fast.
The menu represents typical English cuisine, including choices for children and vegetarians.
I soon have the roast of the day, it really impressed me in a positive way!

Spice UK
13 Berriew St, WelshpoolA tale of 2 halves. 4 of us went on new year eve. Our food arrived and it was cold ( they were extremely busy so we put it down to them not getting food out quick enough) . We complained, there was no arguments, they apologized and our food was served some 10 minutes later....wow what a treat... good old school curry, good portions with plenty of flavor... definitely go there again.

Severn Farm Cafe
Unit S1, Severn Farm Industrial Estate, WelshpoolThis was a last-minute booking as the hotel my parents were staying in was full and this was the only place I found with availability. The information needs updating because it isn't a B+B anymore as they no longer serve breakfast here. Joyce very kindly gave me the family room even though I was on my own. I was booked to stay for two nights but left after just one. I only stayed that night because there was nowhere else for me to go. I have both Autism and Asperger's Syndrome and very quickly realised that shared accommodation wasn't for me. I couldn't relax here. I had a meltdown and repeated anxiety attacks. I hadn't realised it was shared when I booked it otherwise I wouldn't have done. There's a bathroom (with bath) a shower room and a kitchenette - all of which are shared with the other residents. I didn't encounter any problems with this, it just made me feel extremely uncomfortable, particularly when a male guest started asking me inappropriate questions. The house and rooms were very clean and Joyce and Alun are friendly people. It's very quiet at night with only the occasional honking from the geese they farm here but I had the worst nights sleep EVER due to the hardest pillows I've ever slept on! I could've told them about this but that would've meant going outside in the middle of the night to ring the bell and disturbing them and I really didn't want to do that. There's no way of contacting them within the house itself or any emergency contact numbers. You have to go outside and round the house to access the kitchenette as well. There were plenty of utensils, and some kitchen equipment here (including a fridge and 2 microwaves) but I did notice that the fridge-freezer was actually outside! There was a washing machine that you have to pay to use. The WiFi was very fast and easy to connect to. There's plenty of room to park cars at the front and rear of the house. Joyce and Alun have a lovely well-tended private garden and you're completely surrounded by fields. It's a 15 min walk from the town centre but only a 4 min drive. The walking route seemed complicated though and we got lost trying to find the farm. Severn Farm would be perfectly pleasant for people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre and who don't mind shared accommodation but it's definitely not for me and I won't be staying here again.

Golden Bamboo
46A Mount St, WelshpoolBest Chinese takeaway in the area!
I've tried a few others over time, but I always find myself coming back here. The food is always lovely, and the service is friendly too.
Their sweet and sour chicken, salt and pepper chips and special chow mein —can't go wrong.
If you're thinking of getting a Chinese, honestly this is the place to go.

Mill Ln, WelshpoolFood was absolutely incredible with lots of variety on the menu, with this resturant being in such a convenient location for trips to Wales, I'm surprised there weren't more people here. Staff were very kind, and food was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for not only people on holiday, but also families near the area and even those just looking for decent food. Lovely.

McDonald's
Enterprise Park, Unit 1 Buttington Cross, WelshpoolSolid experience overall. The staff are friendly and the service is efficient. The food is exactly what you’d expect, nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about either. The place itself is clean, tidy, and well laid out, so everything flows nicely. All in all, just a good, reliable McDonald’s.
