We had a wonderful Xmas lunch at this inn. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We are all vegetarians but we had a great choice of food and really enjoyed our meals.

We had a fantastic meal here after a tough morning trying to get out following snowfall. The food was very good and what made the experience extra special was the fantastic service we received from Elli. Thank you Elli for all your help.

First and last time for Sunday lunch .beef was extremely tough .roast potatoes were fried in frier not roasted. When told, were charged for whole meal .would not return .

Friendly staff, and good food. Also great non alcoholic drink options, especially the Guinness.

Great food, nice venue, well priced, (The gammon is fantastic!)

Had an excellent meal here, with our 2 dogs allowed in (and fussed so much by the staff). The food was super, a reasonable price and they had a brilliant choice of craft beers to choose from.

Great lunch there the other week. Generous portions, delicious food and great value. Friendly but unobtrusive service, Thank you.

Staff were friendly but wine had been opened a long time was stale and vile. 3 adults drinks, a child's drink and 3 packets of crisps cost nearly £27 yet the same order at a pub less than 5 Mile's away was just over £20. Children's park was poor, not much more than a slide, this could be a fantastic park encouraging more customers and families.

A great spot for lunch. Delicious food with a wide range of options, dog friendly area and welcoming, attentive staff. Nearby to popular walking spots too.

The location is lovely and the outside is clean. There is a good sized car park to the side.A play area for children is a lovely addition along with nice outdoor seating. On entering the pub we were greeted by a friendly face and quickly shown to our table. Our order was taken by a very friendly lady and drinks arrived quickly.Sadly the food let the whole experience down. Very average and not the most tasty.Considering the prices, I expected better

My friend and I went for our usual lunch out most Saturdays after riding.Today we chose 'The Horseshoes'.When we entered, the place was cold and we sat with our coats on by a freezing radiator! The women took our order and insisted their onion rings were beer battered homemade !My £16.95 burger came on a slate ( not even a plate !!) Freezing cold fries on a scoop!!Not 'skin on' as I was informed from the menu. The onion rings were NOT home made. The burger was bought in, it was thick, tasteless and I'm suspicious on the percentage of beef in it !!My friends steak and ale pie was dry, it was a slice of a bigger pie that was again bought in from a cheap brand. The mash potato was glupe, made from dried granules and the gravy as thin as water. We got a £6 voucher discount, which was £3 off each.Did not cover anything, so a pointless gesture. They shouldn't of bothered as we will never enter that cold over rated place again.

Superb pub, excellent food and beer. Great Sunday lunch service and what a roast. Excellent sized portions for a hungry person.

Lovely meal, busy and was warned of a delay for food because of a large group having arrived but meals still arrived within 20 mins or so. Nice staff.

Nice stop off if travelling from Newtown towards Shrewsbury.Decent outdoor area for those sunny days.Plenty of free car parking.

I am not one to review, but after reading the review below from onair557607. But her review is utter codswollop she hadn't booked at all, they were a walk in!!. She was rude, she grunted at the all staff and was constantly muttering under her breath. The food was amazing as always. Regarding the staff they do have a uniform, Darren is always considerate with this as running around in a busy pub that get hot, he always wants his staff to be comfortable when working. If the uniform is inadequate than that is a you problem onair557607. The prawn cocktail was delicious and the roast beef was succulent all veg was cooked to perfection with just enough bite. Darren, Tom and all staff you are appreciated by all customers regular or not. I'm sorry you had to deal with such a rude customer as per the review below.
