Has to be one of the worst Chinese takeaways I've ever had! Don't waste your money!

Only had food with my fiancée from that place once, and I can safely say I will never go back there again even if it’s the only takeout left in Welshpool.\\nChow mein was dripping with oil, was over cooked and soggy and was very bland. The sharing starter looked very anorexic, the prawn bread was flat with no signs of prawn. The spare ribs were practically just bones smothered in a sticky mess of a sauce. Singapore fried rice tasted nothing like it should and the rice was clearly overly boiled as it was disintegrating with every bite. Beef in black bean sauce was more like beef in brown water. I can honestly say that the only edible part of the meal was the fried crispy seaweed… complete waste of money .

King Prawns - Not so,Unless they are Dwarf King Prawns,Half of food was cold, generous duck portions and great price, but pancakes tear and cucumber and scallions need to be fine julienne.

Dubious as heard bad reports, but the food was lovely, service was friendly and efficient, they tweaked their menu to make my choices vegetarian for my family. I would definitely go again.Vegetarian options: Veggie choices but also they were happy to tweak other items to make them veggie.Kid-friendliness: Nice to my kids on collection.Parking: Spaces right outside

Absolutely shocking food. Use to be okay. Last time ever using them! Chips are now frozen rubbish, the chicken balls are all dough and no/to little chicken. The sauce tastes awrful and all the same. Unfortunately our chow mein was extremely salty too.

As someone who has never wrote a review on anything I am compelled to comment on what is not Chinese cuisine. I am Chinese and can cook a decent Asian meal. Tonight I did not fancy cooking so thought I would try ‘The Lantern’ the young lad who greeted me was polite and provided good customer service, I put my order in and once I received it I went to my car and checked everything was there but realised I was missing a chicken dish. I went back to the lantern and told the boy in the front. He went and told the cook in the kitchen and I heard the man refusing to believe he had forgot it and asked the boy to tell me to bring the bag of food back. I did so, the boy took it to the kitchen and I heard the man at the back say ‘there it is, it’s in there’ and he threw a box of food at my bag and disappeared back in the kitchen. The boy brought the bag over to me and there had magically appeared my missing order in the bag. I left feeling quite annoyed. When I opened my order it looked horrible to start with. I then sat down with my family to eat it and it was an insult to Chinese cuisine. The aromatic duck was just a box of essential duck fat pieces, pancakes that were stuck together and so just ripped apart and could not be separated, and stale looking spring onion and cucumber. The prawn toast looked like it had been triple fried and trodden on… flat. The spring rolls were greasy and soggy. The black bean dish tasted chemically the satay beef was watery and tasteless and the chicken and sesame which had been fried crispy was basically just fried batter with hardly any chicken in. The best part of the meal was the rice my husband had made at home. Whoever cooked this clearly does not care about the quality of food they are serving. I feel really bad for the owner who has invested their money into a business that is representing Chinese food but it’s giving this awful food to the public. I just hope it improves but I surely will never know as I will not be returning back again. Feel awful writing such a terrible review but it’s just cost me over £40 for this food and I don’t want someone else to have the same experience. If my grandparents or parents tasted this food they would be speechless.

An insult to Asian cuisine. Had a take out never again. Everything was bland. Prawn toast was like you’d have with a cooked breakfast. No duck just a box of fat with the bone in. Shocking.

Absolutely disgusting food. Threw nearly £40 worth of food in the bin. Chips looked like they had been cooked last week. Curry’s was watery with no taste and congealed, everything we ordered was uneatable. Is the worst meal I have ever seen. Omelette was burnt greasy and rank. Even the dog walked away .
