Great food, lovely staff and all round welcoming atmosphere. Visited for lunch with my dog. Plenty of choice on the menu, I had the burger which was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Elsie (dog) even got a sausage! Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

Called today as passing on the way home, was very quiet but we were late when passing. Had a light lunch which was just perfect, served with a smile and very tasty, lovely pub and certainly worth stopping for lunch or evening meal. Large carpark with lots of outside eating space with Childrens play area.

Not very welcoming, we were ‘pointed’ to our table. Service wasn’t great as had to wait for drinks order and ask to order our food. Food wasn’t great, ‘homemade specials’ fish cakes were not homemade, more like straight out of the freezer. I had a particular issue with my meal, twice!! I had gammon which came with eggs (they forgot the peas and pineapple) and didn’t seem happy to swap chips for salad but with persuasion, they did. Then there was soil in the salad, which waitress apologised for, changed salad (not the rest of the meal) and it happened again. The Chef apologised but I wasn’t prepared to try anything else so went home hungry. No apology from management which was a shame and although they took off payment for the one meal, it did spoil the whole experience. We would not eat there again!

A very warm welcome and then a very short wait for drinks and less than 10 minutes until our food arrived. The food was plentiful, perfectly cooked and piping hot and probably the best roast beef dinner we have ever had. My mum loved the lemon meringue pie and said that it was by far the best one ever. We will definitely be returning soon as we enjoyed the meal immensely and will recommend it highly to everyone. Thank you The HorseShoes

Our visit to The Horseshoes, never disappoints us. Darren and his staff are so friendly, the food is delicious! Today I had the salmon and wow how amazing was it! My hubby had the beef which he said was very tender! Our little dog Tilly had her 2 sausages of which she thoroughly enjoyed. The pub has a great family friendly atmosphere and a wonderful garden area to sit on sunny days ! Each year we come to Welshpool we visit, and we always come away, full and smiling ! Definitely worth a visit 5* all the way!

Super friendly and efficient service, great, perfectly cooked food... The staff made our grandsons 15th birthday celebration special, and nothing was too much trouble.... happy customers!

Chose 2 starters as a quick lunch option. Was asked THREE times whether the drink I ordered was a pint or a half!! Ordered the garlic & stilton mushrooms as I’d had this before but this time there was no garlic & no Stilton flavour. Duck arrancini was very dry. When I mentioned this, the excuse was - oh well, different day - different chef maybe!! I also think I ended up paying for a pint (even though I only had a half)! as the bill was a bit steep. Reluctant to return sorry.

I am not one to review, but after reading the review below from onair557607. But her review is utter codswollop she hadn't booked at all, they were a walk in!!. She was rude, she grunted at the all staff and was constantly muttering under her breath. The food was amazing as always. Regarding the staff they do have a uniform, Darren is always considerate with this as running around in a busy pub that get hot, he always wants his staff to be comfortable when working. If the uniform is inadequate than that is a you problem onair557607. The prawn cocktail was delicious and the roast beef was succulent all veg was cooked to perfection with just enough bite. Darren, Tom and all staff you are appreciated by all customers regular or not. I'm sorry you had to deal with such a rude customer as per the review below.

Booked table for midday Sunday lunch .Never been before ,we arrived and shown to the smallest table in the place . Ordered 2 prawn cocktails to start ,butters for bread were frozen ,also bread was very dry ,prawns were in a half pint beer mug .lettuce at the bottom was old and watery ,hardly any dressing . Oh dear things has to get better but they didn't. We ordered 2 roast beef, this beef was so tuff and cold sitting in a brown watery substance .it was so tough you just could not chew it ,a separate dish of veg came brown brocoli ,tastless hard carrot sticks all covered in kale strips to hide it ,all this veg had been boiled then re heated hence its insipid colour . The pot washer kept coming out of the kitchen in filthy shoes and apron helping him Self to drinks from the bar ,the main waiter walked around chewing his pen ,the waitresses were in a sort of uniform , Very tights black leggings with dirty trainers chewing gum , We had 2 irish coffe,s the coffee was tepid, the only good thing was any good was the very expensive Chilean wine that when we asked could we have the top to take the rest home the waitress rolled her eyes and said oh ile have to go and try and find it then promptly put it down on our table with arrogance. The bill was over £80 for THAT . Never again ,I work hard for my money and this treat was a terrible waste. Avoid it .
