Visited for first time , very quiet . Food was good , good value. Couldn't manage dessert . Very few diners on the night we went , would have been nice to have some music in the background .

Really gutted last night as I have been a couple of times recently and had lovely food however last night we had booked for 6 people to celebrate my sons birthday arrived to be given a small menu (not the usual one) which had 5 or 6 options for starters or mains and only 3 desserts we ordered drinks and once they arrived we were informed there were some changes to the menu as some of the items were not available turned out they had run out of 2 of the starters and all of the mains except the burgers or fish and chips !!! I wouldn't mind but it was dead quiet and only 7pm we decided to drink our drinks as they had already been paid for and go elsewhere we were then offered other items that weren't on the menu that they had in stock ( chicken gammon or lamb rump) so we wouldn't leave We decided to stay and ordered our food the starters were great but the burgers were very dry and burnt the gammon and rump were lovely however when we came to order more drinks they had run out of several things we tried to order my husband then found a false eyelash folded in his napkin ? after that we didn't bother ordering dessert the staff were very apologetic and said they were running very low on all their stock but I feel we were very mislead as we were given menus on arrival and they waited until we had ordered and paid for our drinks before informing us that most of the food on the already limited menu was not available on a positive note they did give us the 50 % off food on Friday deal

What has happened to this once wonderful place ? Ordered food which arrived cold we chose the Sunday roast which we’ve had in the past and always recommended it to friends and family ! The food was not as expected broccoli was rock hard roasters hard and the beef ! It was still mooing very red and tough as old boots not one of us could cut thru it at this point couldn’t find any staff as the place was empty but two Members of staff no one came to check on us to see if food was ok ! In the end the manager came and we said how very disappointed we were she offered us a free desert !! Which we said no thank you ! Money was deducted but I can honestly say we should not of paid for the food at all as we left most of it ! A very disappointing experience you really need to look at this feedback and do something before it’s too late ! As for the location and settings it’s always been fantastic but today it certainly lacked that too the place was very very quiet which is unusual for a Sunday

Birthday occasion - all previous experiences have been very poor so had low expectations. Waited an hour and 15minutes between courses. Left with empty drinks - we had to notify staff on two occasions. Staff appeared to be more focused on socialising

I booked a table for a Saturday at 12pm with a view of having a meal with my partner and viewing the restaurant as a potential venue for our upcoming wedding. After booking the table we were called back to say that they had a wedding on the Saturday so we changed it to Sunday. No big deal mistakes can be made but if we weren't free on the Sunday it would have been very disappointing. In an empty restaurant we were initially taken to a table under the bar however the manager or owner corrected this and took us to a better table. We both ordered starters one was lovely the other was very disappointing. For the main course the cauliflower in cheese sauce was brown. Not sure how a chef could have thought it was acceptable to serve. The skin on the roast potatoes was like leather. I am certain these were reheated and none of the veg was seasoned. My cheese burger was dry and flavourless. When a couple came in after us and sat down they sprung up with a wet backside as the seat had apparently not been cleaned after the wedding the night before. The place looks lovely with great views and great toilets. I assume it was that we were in early and things hadn't started to tick i.e. kitchen staff etc. One or two of the above complaints and it would have been fine but all in all myself and partner were very disappointed. This could just be a one off. Maybe we should go back and I'll update.

Came last weekend for a meal. The restaurant was a bit cold and it took almost an hour for the food to come. When it did it arrive, it was not good. The cauliflower cheese was Luke warm boiled cauliflower with just white sauce on top, no cheese. The roast potatoes were hard and entire potatoes rather than them being cut up like normal. The veggie option was awful. Left without eating. It was apparent other tables were unhappy too whilst we were there, as there were other complaints. We were really disappointed as we come here a lot and the food has always been nice.Hoping it was just an off day and to come again in the future, but definitely not for a roast.

Came tonight and left after only eating what can be described as a below par starter. We got told it would be 30mins before we order to it being busy.. there were no more than 6 small tables in for food.. ok we were happy to wait.We waited 40mins just for starters, chicken pate and 'garlic' mushrooms on toasted sourdough.. the mushrooms (if you want to call them that) were Luke warm at best and bland, not sure where any of the flavour was nevermind the garlic. Two tables got up after waiting for over an hour for a roast due to cold food, fair enough they got a "sorry" but that is not good enough when waiting that long.We were able to see the kitchen, two pies were sat around waiting on the pass for 10mins.. no communication in the kitchen from what looked like kids in there, two people with no chefs whites on entered the kitchen.. very sanitary. NOT.No organisation on any station which showed with 6 of us walking out without eating or only eating a little.Safe to say we left VERY disappointed and hungry and will not be returning, shame as it's up the road from us.

Lovely meal with good selection on the menu - steak was excellent and the seafood. Curry portion was really big and kids meal was ok. Nice drinks and excellent service.

Ad-hoc stop after busy day; friendly staff great atmosphere and surroundings. Chatted to bar-staff about cocktails we liked and he made one off the spot, could have stayed there all afternoon!
