We were looking for a dog friendly pub. Not just one that says 'dog friendly' and then sits you outside. On seating us, the owner brought over a little crate with a dog blanket, a bowl of treats and a bottle of water. Great dog service :) Human service just as good. Lovely staff. Food great and piping hot. We'll be back. Definitely recommend.

I booked online and we arrived for 1pm. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who quickly showed us to our table and took our order for drinks. We didn't have to wait long for our lunch to be served. I had the hunters chicken and my husband had the fish and chips. The plates and food were piping hot and we both enjoyed it. We have visited recently and found that the service was slow and lots of people queuing without booking. This time was a great improvement and the staff were very efficient and friendly and even though it was very busy we felt everything was perfect. Compliments to the chef as the food was excellent. We will be visiting again shortly.

My experience is not good there was food on menu when it came was not on plate what was on menu was not whatever came food was barely warm will not be returning and will not recommend.

A great pub that offers a friendly service visited here for a quick drink at our halfway pit stop walking from Trevor to the poachers. The views from the pub garden are fantastic and right on the bank of the canal. Very picturesque for a quite drink or a meet up with friends. I have eaten here previously and the food was great and reasonably priced. Well worth a stop.

Sadly, we've not had a great experience. The welcome was friendly and lovely. We arrived at 6:30 which must have been a popular time as we received our food almost an hour later. Unfortunately, my meal of one of the house specials, belly of pork, was the worst I ever had. There were three tiny, overcooked, dry little pieces of pork on half a plate including mash and broccolini. My fellow diners all commented on the lack of food on the plate including the miserable bits of meat. I was offered another plate of food, but as we'd waited so long with two hungry, ratty children in the group, I declined, as I didn't fancy eating on my own. I was also offered a free dessert, but once again, with the others not going to have dessert, it made no sense. The kids enjoyed their meals and two of the adults enjoyed theirs, fish and chips, and sausage and mash. The waitresses were friendly.

Craig and the team were brill. The food was superb and service was A1. Would recommend to anyone and we will be going back real soon. Well done everyone keep up the good work

This was without a doubt the worst experience i have ever had. I'm bewildered as to why such a vile man would be in a management role in hospitality. I witnessed him screaming at a customer, shouting at staff who looks scared of him and his manner towards us was curse and unwelcoming. The atmosphere was horrid, i am still in disbelief.

PLEASE PLEASE read the trip advisor reviews before you book/visit. The manager is incredibly rude, arrogant and lacks basic customer service. There is clear bullying of young female staff. He is just an awful person who is regularly arguing with customers and gaslighting them by blaming them. On my recent visit he stormed over to me and screamed in my face, very intimidating and completely unprovoked. He has major anger issues. Leaving this review to save others from having to experience him.
