“Well…., where do I start. What a fantastic pub, great atmosphere, great landlady and most of all great drinks. This place has become a great boozer ever since Tex took the place on. Looking forward to its upcoming renovation!!!”

“I would recommend as the food is lovely however, very overpriced. I had Gammon which was nice but not worth £17 my partner had the cottage pie again very nice but very small portion with just a side of hard vegetables and not worth £18. I’d come again but only if the prices were lowered and portion size increased.”

“We first visited the Blue Lion for a breakfast with Santa on Christmas Eve last year. Since then I’ve found numerous reasons to visit, most recently for a Father’s Day breakfast. Superb food, good service and a little gem of a place. Looking forward to trying out the courtyard now the sun is shining!!”

“If you want a proper traditional British pub then look no further! What a fantastic pub, the landlord and landlady (Luke and Annie) are lovely welcoming people and a great couple to be running this boozer. If you’re looking for a good pint then this is the place, fantastic beer and great conversation in this old world pub. Would highly recommend if you’re wanting the best pint in Atherstone!!”

“Stopped in for tea whilst camping near by was blown away by the food and the excellent service. The pub looks lovely and quaint from the outside and we weren’t disappointed when we got in. The bar is cozy and the restaurant is gently bustling with happy patrons. The food smelt and looked divine as we were seated and there was a steady stream of people enjoying the food and comfy atmosphere. The food was amazing and the staff were happy to make alterations and listen to customer requirements. The staff were wonderful from getting us seated, to serving us, and through checking in on us throughout the meal all the way to saying goodbye. We couldn’t fault the service or the food which was very reasonably priced and came in good portion sizes, and were so happy to land on such a wonderful pub with the most quintessential country pub feel. We highly recommend a stop here for food, you won’t be disappointed! Thanks again to all do the wonderful staff.”
