Lovely little pub with great history regarding the famous song of the same name. Italian menu, we had lasagne and veggie calzone. Thoroughly enjoyed it thankyou.

Went there for my sisters 60th saint Patrick’s day nice place very nice staff one girl looked nervous serving us drinks obviously young but no problems had ok starters calamari and chicken liver patie was nice my daughter had carbonara said it was just ok Italian you would think they would know her boyfriend had pizza was ok the rest off the adults had Sunday lunch OMG was worst I’ve ever had processed meat pork chicken beef or lamb they said we can mix I had chicken and beef one small floret off cauliflower one small broccoli rock hard 3 small roasted potatoes a tea spoon off carrots and a Yorkshire pudding ok but wasn’t good with some packet gravy never again thanks ?

Sorry guys but sadly not the place it used to be. It appears that the premises have changed hands 3 or 4 times over the last few years. A bit of a paint makeover inside is all we have noticed - apart from a significant hike in prices. As a conclusion, an pleasant establishment charging restaurant prices in a pub location with pub service and pub food. We dined there recently. It took an hour for the main course to arrive - very few people eating - and who eats spaghetti with a knife and fork ? Sorry, but we will not be returning under the current ownership. Dig a bit deeper into your pocket and head off to a great Italian restaurant in Balsall Common.

Booked for over 2 weeks for Mothers day, they called the Friday before asking for 50 pound deposit and list of food we wanted. Paid deposit and questioned price for kids, said dont worry we sort!! Arrived at the venue first of all they tried to claim we hadn't paid deposit and then tried to place us in only what could be described as an outside shed, where they wanted us to be served and eat. The shed stunk of smoke, was cold and damp and my moyher n law is a pensioner. We were just about to ask for money back and leave but a table was found. He claimed 10% would be discounted.The food was good but the day had been spoilt already!Finally had the bill over charged for kids meals and no 10% discount as expressed.I'm afraid worse experienced ever had on mother's day!!!

Passed by here many times, and decided to stop for lunch on Saturday.Very clean and tidy.Had an excellent meal. Tomato and Basil soup was very tasty. Had chicken stroganoff for main.Will call again next time we’re up that way.
Great friendly service and the food was fantastic, great size portions, very reasonably priced and just tasted amazing. We'll be back
