The place is a restaurant, stroke pub.Food was reasonable, although every place that does food, portions are smaller. Amstel war drink of the week. lunch was good honest acceptable. Prices. Pretty honestly. There wasn't that amount of calories in meals, they were small with only one potato on my roast.Try Tracy Cafe, on 444

Had a great evening meal with 6 of us. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious. Would come again when we are next in the area.

We always enjoy a meal at Ego. My only disappointment on our last visit (03/34) was the massive size difference in their dessert portions. Teeny slice of basque cheesecake compared to an apple crumble slice literally 4 times bigger. Otherwise, the food was lovely, and I always enjoy their gluten-free options.

The restaurant was very nice, but service was 0/10. It took long until the waitress came to take the order, then when she brought the food my chicken was really burned. When I asked her to come and see, she left angrily with the plate as if it was my fault and then someone else came with another chicken. I stayed there for about 3 hours in total but after she took the chicken she never came back once to ask if everything was ok or if I wanted another drink or dessert. I asked another waitress to bring the bill because the former one didn't even come close to the area and the later one apologized, made notes about my complaint and made my last 10 minutes in the restaurant really lovely.

A few issues with dinner service last night that were managed very well by the manager! An experience that could've been ruined was turned around by a very gracious host.

Expectations were high but unfortunately we were met with pretty average chain food - wasn't unpleasant, but expected more, and for the money don't believe it was that great value. Food took a long time to arrive too.Dietary restrictions: Good selection for a gluten free menu

Went on mother's day, got shown to our table, but didn't get drinks for another 20 minutes. We had a 3 course meal and the food was lovely, but we had to wait an hour for pudding. Our waitress was lovely and apologised, but they were obviously understaffed in the kitchen. It doesn't make sense, as the tables have all been booked and they know what is coming. We had a 7 year old who was very restless and bored waiting for his pudding which then made mother's days not so relaxing.

Massively overpriced and very very average just about warm food, drinks prices are outrageous. We will not be going back.

Unfortunately wasn’t the best experience, considering the cost. The concept is lovely, the menu looks great and some of the food was really nice, but a lot of it wasn’t, or was underwhelming for the cost and the wait.Appreciate that Saturday lunch times can be very busy and a really lovely waitress did explain to us towards the end that there was so much afternoon tea that the restaurant was a bit backlogged, as with it being Mother’s Day weekend which is totally understandable. But no body explained this delay to us until chatting to this waitress about puddings at the end.The guys serving us were so busy that they didn’t check in with us even after waiting for starters for over an hour. All of the courses took a long time to come out, as did drinks etc which is fine but was annoying without an explanation as we spent half the meal thinking they’d forgotten about our order rather than just chilling and chatting. Some of the food was very overpriced, for example the £9 puddings where some were huge Sundays and others tiny slices of a cake, still for £9. The drinks were £5 for a Pepsi max, I might be out of touch with the price there but felt very steep - and a gin was the same price. The sharing starter was £18 and was not enough for sharing, and had some very small and basic foods on there for such a cost. Even the £25 hanging kebab which looked impressive, had hardly any meat on it so was very expensive for a lot of grilled veg.It was just quite underwhelming for how nice the menu and restaurant looked. Pricing just seemed random. Better communication about the wait would have been great, and the server calling my 50 year old mum ‘mate’ every time was a bit odd?. But some nice food if you order the right things and go when a bit quieter. Thank you to our server and the waitress who sorted our puddings who were both very helpful.I think it could be a lovely day out, perhaps we just hit at the wrong time.

Disappointing lunch. Given a dirty Highchair and when asked to clean it did so begrudgingly. Nice starters but then had to wait for mains and when we arrived it wasn't busy so not sure what the wait was. Childs under 5 fries highly salted and had to send back for plain ones, shocked they would salt children's fries! 1 Steak under done and 1 over done. Had been there coming on 2 hours so needed to leave as had 19month old with us, to be told the children's menu is 2 courses and either I had to pay for 2 courses and not have a pudding for him or choose one to take with us. We now didn't have time for my son to have one and didn't want to take one with us so asked to just pay for his main to be told no. Considering I had to send fries back its the least they could do but no! Will not be returning. Have been to egos elsewhere and had a good experience but was very disappointed with our visit today.Kid-friendliness: Highly salted fries for children under 5! Grubby Highchair.

I have been here before and it was nice food so I booked it for my mums birthday meal. I was so embarrassed about brining my family here to celebrate as the food was awful! The starters we ordered was, muscles, calamari, crispy pork belly and garlic butter prawns. The pork belly and calamari was so bland and oily, the muscle and prawns was okay but nothing to shout about. We ordered two fillet steak and a ribeye, lamb shank and the mixed kebab. We ordered all the steaks medium and it was over done. Mums ribeye steak was so chewy that she did not enjoy her meal at all. The only meal that was enjoyed with the hanging kebab so I would recommend it if you do come.
