Haven’t been to a Beefeater for years, so was looking forward to our meal. I had looked at the menu before hand and had a good idea what I wanted to order.We had booked a table and arrived in plenty of time.We were amused by the signs … asking us to be careful and not letting the local cat into the restaurant.We were not acknowledged when we walked in so felt a little uncomfortable standing and waiting until the waitress finally came over.Drinks arrived very quickly and our food was soon ordered, including my other half requesting no mushrooms. I ordered what I had looked at earlier.Food arrived and mine looked amazing, my other half’s had the mushroom on which we needed to deal with as there was no one around and our food was put down and the sever walked off straight away.Once we had removed the mushroom and the juices as best as we could we ate our food. My food was awesome but obviously my other halfs had been tainted with the order going wrong.When we had finished the waitress came to clear the table, we said about the mushroom and she said she had ordered it with out.We just asked for the bill and left.I honestly think we will not return.

Every time I visit Beefeater I am greeted with joyful smiles from an excellent staff who goes above and beyond for the needs of their customers-- whether that's when I am with friends, on a date with my husband. We met a waiters there who had to be recognized publicly. Sarah was phenomenal. Sarah was prompt, smart, caring, and knowledgable about the food. She is the best waiter we've ever had in Beefeater.Special thank you for my Mother's Birthday on Halloween.

Fantastic evening at this beefeater. Our hostess Claire was outstanding simply for her patience in dealing with some of our requests. She was incredibly helpful and was very polite and cheerful throughout. The food was delicious but the highlight was at the end of the night we were cutting birthday cake, the manager came over and gave my father in law a box of chocolates and a small bottle of wine as a birthday present. Thank you so much to all at this restaurant for making the evening memorable

What on earth is going on at this restaurant? Regretably this review is not a great appraisal. We waited 15 minutes before someone even came to attend to us before being seated. Nobody was on the desk we wandered around looking for someone to ask. We were booked for a table at 6:30 on SundayIt was well over an hour before my friends starter came out after we asked them where our food was more than once. The table was sticky from the previous diners drinks. I asked twice for that to be cleaned because my clothing was sticking to it and it just wasnt nice.The plant based roast dinners should have been the same as the meat ones with 'all the trimmings' except the meat dinner was delivered to our friend and we had the vegetarian version but by comparrison half of the trimmings were not on our plates. No parsnips, no sprouts, we ordered a side order of grilled brussels sprouts too, they never arrived. We asked 3 times for them and were advised they would be sent and it was their mistake so we wouldn't be charged for them. By this point we were awaiting our desert and still no side order. We said after the meal that we had never received the side order and all they said was oh well we won't charge you for those then. No 'sorry we are out of sprouts', just 'oh'. They couldn't care less to be honest.We asked for soft drink refills which you offer for no charge which didn't come. We had to get up during our dinner to wait at the bar for those.I don't mean any disrespect to the young server she was pleasant and she was doing a lot of other tasks but as customers it was shocking service. I'd say it was only a quarter full so if there had been any more diners in there what would they have done?The food was OK, some of it was hot some cooler and dry from the hot plate. There were a lot of potatoes on the plate so I wonder if they had run out of vegetables which is why we never received ours.Oh and we had not long since finished our deserts because everything was a long time coming and we were still drinking up and they started to hoover up around us and the server came to the table to tell us at 9:55 we had 5 minutes till closing! We weren't finished and that was not our fault. It was the long waits for everything. Disgraceful really.Nothing like feeling like you're in the way.We should not have paid all of the bill in hind sight but when you're out with friends you don't exactly want to make a fuss.Having a meal out with friends is a real luxury these days, this was a 50th birthday outing and so we regrettably we won't be back, we will spend our hard earned money at another restaurant.Shame.

Food almost inedible, ordered vegetable sticks for my one year old. Carrots came out with almost a furry coating on they were that old, pepper slices had gone soft and soggy on the sides again for the same reason. Burger was just grease, side of onion rings were sat in grease which made them soft. Calamari you could tell was frozen and then had been overcooked and was greasy. Chicken strips were near enough black they were so overcooked. The staff were lovely, but food was absolutely disgusting. Absolutely appalling, will never be returning.
Nice atmosphere and warm, Christmas music a little too loud, need more staff, food good and reasonable. Had to change drink as it was soda water as syrup had run out.

We ate breakfast at The Griff House 2 days in a row when staying at the nearby Travelodge. Service on both days was excellent, despite the restaurant being busy. Food was of good quality and excellent value. The cooked breakfast was made to order meaning less waste and the food was really hot. Linda was particularly friendly on the Sunday breakfast shift. We would definitely recommend

Poor experience. Food had clearly been sat under the heat lamps for at least 10 minutes. Food was luke warm, and beans and peppercorn sauce had a film over then because of it. Beer was flat and warm when it arrived. Clearly more interested in the larger tables over a couple.Service from the waitress was good, but thats as far as the good points go.Disappointed to say the least
