A lovely inn, set in a pretty edge of Cotswolds village, with really pleasant and helpful staff. The rooms are well appointed, clean and nicely decorated. We stayed in the Buff Orpington room which had a huge bed and a lovely bathroom with a roll top bath, heated floor and fully stocked with Baylis & Harding amenities. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the room and a good quality breakfast was provided.A couple of minor issues were: (1) Walls and floor a bit thin, with music and chatting heard from the bar/restaurant below and I heard a chap snoring in the room next door; (2) Full English breakfast was great but could have been hotter; (3) No shower in our room; (4) Carpark not the biggest and fills up quickly. But overall a really nice place to stay and we’d definitely be back.

Our first experience yesterday at the Fuzzy Duck for Sunday lunch and I left feeling very disappointed at the customer service. I do not expect to ever be sat on a damp bench in a restaurant but this is what happened here. The bench had obviously been outside and bought in for extra seating and covered in a rug which did not stop the damp coming through. When I spoke to the manager on duty I got a very feeble apology and was told they didn't have enough chairs for the covers that day and she would pass it on (I'm not sure who to!). She was very disinterested in my complaint and I was left to go back to my damp bench! Not good enough I'm afraid. I will add that our young waitress couldn't have apologised more and seemed far more concerned than her manager. With that sort of customer service I won't be rushing back.

We stopped in for a Saturday lunch and couldn't be happier with the experience. In a lovely little village it kept that charm but still felt modern and sophisticated inside. The menu was impressive, portions weren't huge but that kept the prices sensible without affecting quality. Staff were helpful and attentive. Well worth a

This meal was booked six days in advance as a special treat, and as we had seen the idyllic location of The Fuzzy Duck, and a handful of decent reviews, we decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately, this establishment did not meet our expectations in the slightest. A person can put as many stars and bows on it as they like, but one can't escape the fact that the staff are blatantly rude, and our experience here was ghastly. On arrival, we entered the establishment and instead of a pleasant greeting, we were immediately told our table needed to be returned within the hour. This is not how you treat customers. We booked this table six days ago, so if someone was due at 8:15pm, someone should have phoned to inform us, and asked us if we could come earlier in the evening, not treat us like second class citizens on the doorstep. It was a very disappointing start. We were shown to our table, given drinks, ordered our meal, and because we didn't have time for starters, we went straight to mains. They came out fast, which I knew was because they wanted us finished as soon as possible so they could have their table. Well, the food was not cooked to our expectations. The chips were undercooked and the sausages were nearly raw in the middle, making my daughter rather upset and she left feeling unwell. We informed the waitress who didn't seem interested, ran off to tell the chef, and then never returned. The icing on the cake was the disgusting service charge slapped on top of an already pricey meal, of which we had to shove down our necks because staff needed their precious table back for people more important than ourselves. This place needs a shake-up, especially in the communication side of things, and in the kitchen. We have never been made to feel so unwanted, but at least they made a few quid out of us this evening.I will only recommend this place to people I dislike.

The Fuzzy Duck is in a nice location; my wife booked on the 10th of September for the 16th of September at 7 p.m. We arrived later than expected at 7:15 p.m., which I apologised for as we were not sure where it was (no signage in the middle of nowhere with a small car park). On arrival, I was not greeted with a hello but instead was told "We need the table back at 8:15 p.m. or at the latest, 8:30 p.m." (Blonde waitress)With it being a late Saturday night and being in the middle of nowhere, I decided to keep the table as my kids were hungry and finding somewhere at short notice would be difficult.Me and my family had a terrible experience that didn't start well, as mentioned above.Drinks and food came quickly, but I think the food was rushed as it was way below par; I might as well have gone to McDonald's.The fish was greasy, the chips were undercooked, and it looked like the chef had tried to scare the chips by making them that pale instead of cooking them fully. The chicken burger and fries were okay but average at best. The sausages were pink inside and not cooked enough for my daughter; I ate one only because I did not have time to have starters as me and my family were being rushed, as mentioned.I asked for the bill, which was given to me, and when we complained about the food, the waitress said, "I'll inform the chef," and ran off not to be seen again, but before she had, I had asked for the card machine at least twice, as I just wanted to pay and leave, as what's the point of hanging around when your custom is not even wanted from the get-go?I then had to ask another waitress for the card machine, so I could pay for the bill and head home.On leaving, I saw the rude blonde waitress hanging out behind the bar just gossiping instead of talking to the chef, who I presume works in the kitchen, unless the chef also works behind the bar. wouldn't surprise me.At least I know The Fuzzy Duck has something in common with the NHS: poor communication. If you needed the table for a more important client or if I knew your customers are only given 1 hour to have starters, mains, and puddings, then I would have gone somewhere else. Isn't 6 days long enough to work out that someone hasn't done their jobs correctly and double booked? or was Lord Melbury visiting? ?What shocked me even more was the service charge, which was added to the bill even when I was treated like dirt.I would not recommend The Fuzzy Duck to anyone. The food is poor, the staff are rude, and the service is terrible. If I could give 0/5, then I would, and no, Mark, do not contact me as your call will only be rejected.TERRIBLE! ?????????Food & drinks: Poor at best!
