The best fish & chips in Stratford upon Avon.5*

Dominic Lowe

Masterfully prepared fish. Crunchy batter and delicate tasty fish. Portion was extremely generous. Clean tables and all sauces available. They even had decaf teabags for me. Will happily return next time I’m in Stratford-upon-Avon.

We visited on the Saturday of the Christmas fare when the town was very busy and we had takeaway. However the service was still excellent and the fish and chips some of the best ever had. The fish was cooked to order with the batter being crispy but not thick or over done and the fish superb. The chips were brown, crispy and piping hot! Eaten sitting on a bench with a can of Diet Coke - Absolutly superb…

Visiting the area for a couple of days and was recommended that I go here for fish & chips and eat in the restaurant , a very friendly and chatty lady took my order, the fish ( cod) was cooked to order, the food was excellent, hot, crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish and lovely chips, had mushy peas, bread & butter & a pot of tea. Nice, very clean surroundings and if in the area I would definitely call again.

Came here based on other reviews... they were not wrong!!! Amazing fish and chips and worth every penny. I had the haddock and chips, with curry sauce, bread and butter, and a cup of tea for £15.95. My partner had a mini cod and chips (it was not mini). The fish was definitely fresh and very tender with a perfect crisp batter. The chips were cooked lovely and a nice crisp bite but soft inside, and the curry sauce had a flavoursome aroma and complimented the chips.I would definitely recommend here and you will love it.

We were staying nearby and saw the good reviews for The Kingfisher, and thought got to give it a go! It didn't disappoint from the moment we stepped through the door of the restaurant until we left. A friendly greeting and helpful information given by the lovely lady serving us. The food was fresh and tasty.... batter perfectly crispy, fish plentiful. A must to visit whilst in Stratford upon Avon.

Our fish and chips were plentiful cooked perfectly and so tasty . Wandering around Stratford for tea and were disappointed with the menus on offer at most of the restaurants we decided to try here. So glad we did it was fab ?

We heard about "the best place for fish & chips" several times along the canal route so couldn't NOT go. THE BEST and I'm not really a huge fan of them. We all got the cod and it was a large piece of fish, cooked to perfection. Wasn't soaked in grease like some and chips were crispy. Unfortunately no longer allowed to wrap in newspaper (ink) but they were good anyway. Just a small restaurant, but busy. Offered tartar sauce, curry sauce (yummy) and gravy as extras. Worth looking up.

Visited midweek for takeaway, freshly cooked pieces of cod and haddock but chips were a little tired and not fresh, reasonable price. Will retry
