This restaurant is a little piece of magic!Set in a beautiful and peaceful little corner in Warwick it is the perfect setting for delicious French Cuisine. Impeccable!Very romantic but relaxed and the building itself so charming, inside or outside it sparkles! Great service.Very photogenic for a special occasion.

Your Reviewer of 12th Oct 22 says it all when they wrote in essence ‘ Who writes these positive Reviews on 7 Square ? ‘ We arrived exactly on time at the Restaurant , eerily empty at 8pm . A luke warm welcome by a Lady and shown to a wobbly table , with non matching glasses and cheap cutlery .No offer to take our coats - just the comment of being told to ‘Chuck’ them on the next table ………as we were they only people ‘in’ ! Then a major attempt to light a night light on our table , prop up the wavering table and quickly leave some menus . The Restaurant was far from warm and completely lacking in any atmosphere or ambience Awhile later , a Guy arrived who appeared to be the Patron/ Owner . No greeting or welcome . Just a sharp ‘yes please’ as he stood there with his tiny order pad and pen . We ordered a bottle of white wine , and food from a very short Menu . Wine quickly came and poured into what I can only describe as huge ( and inappropriate) gin and tonic goblets , with the name of some Supplier prominently shown on the side . No water offered and it came only after requesting it . The arrival of the Food , served by the Patron/ Owner now wearing a Apron , did not lift our spirits . Starters just about Ok , but main courses extremely disappointing - chicken very over cooked, tough and very salty . Two poor quality lamb chops , full of fat, masquerading as rack of lamb and duck clearly not enjoyed by one of us and not fully eaten . Huge portion of French beans and some dauphinois potatoes , which had clearly just been warmed up . No pepper or salt on the table . When asked,2 disposal Lidl containers were produced . As he came to clear plates from our main course our so cheerful friend the Patron was asking (before he had lifted all the plates ) …….’any deserts?’ To cap the evening a 10% COVER CHARGE was added to the bill. For what I ask ….no bread or amuse bouché . So a bill for £200 for 4 - two courses and one bottle of very ordinary white wine Having settled the bill a few minutes before we left , we left a totally empty restaurant with not even a good night or see us out . Fine dining ? I think not If you are in Warwick I feel there must be rather better places to blow this amount of money and where your custom is appreciated, service is good and food matches reasonable expectations.

This was Christmas Day lunch for just a few diners, which explains the hefty cost, but it was worth every penny. A fantastic meal in a relaxed environment. Service was excellent and the chef was most attentive. Food was brilliant, couldn’t have wished for a better experience. We’ll go out of our way to dine here again.

We should have known that on a Saturday night a table for 4 was too easy, and yes the restaurant was empty aside one elderly couple. On arrival they seemed shocked we wanted a table but very welcoming. The menu stated it was French cuisine but that's where any comparison ended. The starters, well mine was grilled peppers with goats cheese and melon. Well it was those mini spicy jar red peppers out of a jar with a little bit of goats cheese stuck inside, served with a few slithers of melon which had barley touched a grill served on loads of iceberg lettuce to pad out the plate with a balsamic dribble over it. Not a good start. My colleague had fish soup and was advised it had salmon and muscles. Well it was warm water with cream and had 5 muscles floating in it in their shells , 2 were not even opened so discarded. The mains we had steak and chips. We ordered medium and the steak was half medium and half rare, our colleagues ordered well done and there's were the same as ours. The chips were pale thin and worm like, and had only been dipped in the frier but hadn't been been fried. I did complain at this point and they sent out a new platter of them but that was 10 mins after we'd eaten and to be honest they were still under cooked and pale. The steak had not been allowed to rest so there was blood on the plate which mingled with the 1 tablespoon of a cream like sauce (not sure there were peppercorns in it but it was brown) and yes guess what served with a pile of ice berg lettuce, a tiny slither of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber to pad out the plate. Everything served was overly salty. If the chef cant cook a chip or season food correctly then really? It felt like the chef had no pride and just threw the food out and the service was very hap hazard be it friendly. Sorry to give such a review as always try to be very positive but this was the worst experience i have had in a long time and for £100 per couple check it was not a cheap evening plus there was an extra 10% cover charge in small print at the bottom of the menu which is very unusual nowadays. On reading the other reviews, who is writing the reviews as we do not recommend as there are much nicer restaurants or pubs at a fraction of the cost in Warwick and surrounding area.

Being positive is the key to success.

Great owner, there's a dog called Gucci that walks around, great service and amazing atmosphere ??

We come back here each time we are in Warwick for the Folk Festival. It is just lovely. Fabulous food. Good prices. Lovely venue. Excellent friendly host. The only puzzle is why it is so quiet!! Well worth a visit.
