Came for my brothers birthday on22/03/2024.Was really looking forward to it since it went downhill before the refurbishment and I have not been for over 3/4 years.Firstly they had no shot glasses, so baby guinness and yagers were being made in whiskey glasses, fair play to your bar tender for pulling it off and his excellent attitude.Food was poor, ordered two fish and chips, both soggy and barley any fish in the batter, left pretty much half of the fish on the plate but tried to make the best of it. Special's menu advertised on website isn't the same one when you get there.Halloumi fries were meant to come with peri peri drip but came with Salsa and no apologies.Atmosphere was dead.A pint is £6.05 each, cant justify those prices when food and atmosphere was so dead alongside offering yager bombs but no shot glasses to actually provide a yager bomb. Wont be returning.Did book for baby shower on the 6th of April for 10 people, but will be cancelling.

We visited on the evening of Mothering Sunday with a party of 10. The restaurant was quiet after what I'm sure was a very busy day but we were greeted with a friendly smile.The server was really helpful, even supplying a pen and paper so that we could write our orders down , which also helped with working out the bill at the end of the evening (we have 2 children and everyone else is childless so we don't just split the bill) The food arrived in good time and was nice and hot, portions were generous and everything was tasty. Two of us had roast dinner which was huge and delicious; one of us had the chicken tikka, one hunters chicken, and various burgers. Everyone enjoyed their food and most plates were cleaned.The table was cleared quickly and desserts were ordered, some items were unavailable but this was to be expected on what would have been a very busy day. Again everyone enjoyed their desserts, my mother in law who is lactose intolerant was very happy with the vegan banoffee chocolate tart.My only disappointment was that I had been looking forward to having a dessert as I have given up chocolate for Lent and we are allowed to break our 'fast' on Mothering Sunday and when it came to it I was too full from the delicious roast dinner!The food was lovely and the staff were great, a really nice evening.

If you want average food and staff that act like they don't care and huff and puff at every request this is your place to go.Some staff are okay, but few that let it down massively. Made the experience totally unpleasant. Horrendous.

Came today after booking a table from 11am to 1pm. Arrived at 10 50, couldn't get on the car park as the barrier posts were still up. When arriving inside we were greeted with...We have a fast turn around today so please order at the bar as soon as possible. So already felt rushed. No children's menus were on the table. Ordered our food amd drinks, there were no straws for the children's drinks. The black currant squash tasted like water. The pepsi max was flat. The food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering so definitely not cooked fresh, all of us have had a tummy ache since leaving. Maybe because we were rushed to eat our food. Were asked twice if the food was okay. So felt even more rushed. The same please order as soon as possible was told to the other 2 tables that were dining with us. Even though they both have very young children so i dont know how you can tell a small child to hurry up and eat! Definitely will NOT be retuning and do not recommend.The service was very poor and the food was barely edible. 100% microwave food and the drinks were disgusting.

Had to wait as car parking was locked ? then Rushed us when tablets booked until 1 Food was dry as had hunters chicken my son drink was flat and my friends squash was like water with a hint of flavour ?

Nice surroundings but the portion of chili & rice we got was tiny for the price & not great quality.
Staff were friendly & gave excellent customer service, achieving this effortlessy, for example on arrival table reserved was unsuitable for my elderly parents and we were swiftly shown to a more suitable table. Help was given to bring drinks to our table without being requested. It was busy , food time updates were given regularly although we didn't think there was a wait with our food. The food was exceptional , hot ,good quality, lovely presentation and great portion size. Staff asked us continously if we needed anything more & if all was satisfactory with our meals. My parents, my husband and myself had a truly lovely meal and will be visiting again very soon along with our numerous family members.

Came to the Forge this evening for my daughters 4th birthday meal, was nice and quiet as we came early. Food was lovely and service was excellent. Very responsibly priced too.Parking: Always a place to park.Kid-friendliness: Really friendly with the kids.

I always have a loverly time when I visit the forge. The food is not only delicious but also great value for money. I have never had a bad time over the many occasions I have visited this place. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. I would highly recommend the forge to anyone looking for a nice meal out.
