An ancient pub with a present atmosphere, a good all round local with nothing really outstanding.

Busy pub with a good atmosphere and nice ales, served with a smile. Didn’t try the food but it did look tasty. Good old fashioned pub with lots of nooks and crannies.Parking: At back of pub with narrow lanes in and out but navigable with care

One of the most tasty, home cooked Sunday Roasts to be found in Coventry. All of the food, including home made cranberry sauce, was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. Locally bought meats, friendly pub atmosphere and roaring log fires - couldn't fault it. We rebooked before leaving. Casual, family and dog friendly pub. Perfect for winter Sundays. Prices: Main roast £18-£20. Starters and puddings £6 approx. Vegan options and entire menu GF. Hats off to the new landlady Michelle who has completely turned the pub around over the last 12mths. Compliments to John the Chef.

We've just had the most wonderful meal at The Rainbow Inn in Allsley, near coventry. In all honesty this was one of the best roast dinners we've had (sorry mum!) and not only that, it was entirely gluten free. My daughter is a coeliac and eating out becomes a stressful affair at times. Ive never felt so safe taking her to eat somewhere. The marvellous chef, Chef Jon, is a credit to The Rainbow Inn and serves a fully gluten free Sunday menu complete with childrens options. Everything gluten free. My husband opted for gammon and said it was the nicest hed ever had. It melted in the mouth. The yorkshires were enormous, the apricot stuffing was a dream. I had roast beef and couldnt fault anything at all... and my dessert of profiteroles was delicious! They were actually like little tiny fresh donuts... and of course fully gluten free. We also sampled some of the home-made gluten free bread which was enjoyed by all. Not at all the crumbly shop-bought stuff. Having seen the chef by chance on Instagram, i was aware of his first-hand insight into catering for coeliacs and the importance of cross contamination control. He went above and beyond to make us all, but certainly my daugther, feel super safe. He prepared a special pudding selection for her which i think she will remember for a long time. She had a little portion of all the pudding options and when i asked her which was her favourite - she simply said "all of them". We will most definitely be returning to sample the friday night fish and chips menu which again is entirely gluten free.

If you're looking for a welcoming, super-dog-friendly pub with delicious food, great beer and fantastic staff, look no further. Have had a totally delicious sunday roast today. Thank you!Parking: Just a bit tight to get into and not that many spaces, but plenty of free parking within a 5 minute walk.
