I had the carvery roast beef, gammon and turkey. Very tasty with a variety of veg and gravy. You have two plate size options to choose from. I had the smaller plate, which was more than enough for big eaters. My friend had the larger plate and couldn't finish it. Friendly and polite staff. The only downside side there was 20 of us and the room we were given was cold. The staff placed two heaters in the room but after a while they blew out cold air. Decor a little tired. Food is worth the price.

The food was abysmal though me and my family came on a weekday. The service was lovely and the waiters were kind and friendly. However the atmosphere mirrored that of a place hope would go to die.Do not recommend or at least not on a weekday.

I love coming here with my boys, amazing food and value for food and such a lovely place, my boys can be themselves and more than a little lively (they are all SEN) and I just feel so at ease every time we come. Although i was a little nervous booking a late breakfast that was quick settled by the great friendly staff. Breakfast was fresh, hot and plentiful. this was my first visit to the Tollgate in many years but i will be returning and have already recommended to a number of friends.
