“We had a lovely visit to The Bell & Bear — the food was amazing and the portion sizes were just perfect! The décor is beautiful and makes for a really welcoming atmosphere. The only small downside was that the ladies’ toilets could have used a little more monitoring, as they were a bit dirty when I visited. A big highlight was the service from the young lads who looked after us. They were incredibly helpful, professional, and nothing was too much trouble for them. However, my biggest gripe was the way they were spoken to in front of guests. They were belittled multiple times about their work, yet continued to serve with a smile. There’s a right way to speak to staff, and doing it in a way that’s embarrassing for them — and uncomfortable for customers to witness — isn’t it. It reflects poorly on the pub. If the person giving these instructions is in a management role, I’d strongly suggest some training in people skills and staff management. Great food, great service from the team on the floor — but the way staff are treated in public needs serious improvement.”

“Had a cob here very nice, always pop in if im around Blackheath, proper random locals in there but the old saying 'salt of the earth' springs to mind.
Great atmosphere evertime we go in, normally around midday, staff are friendly and welcoming, kids welcome too.
Nice beer garden also .”

“Popped in for a couple of pints last night Saturday 26.10.24. Lovely pub. My new go too. Very friendly staff and beer is exceptional with such a good choice of ales. Don't forget to try a cob. ???”
