We have been twice and the food is delicious. Perfectly done roast beef duo with crispy roast potatoes. Great rustic ambience with a wood fire, and the service is always excellent. We especially enjoyed our latest visit to celebrate a birthday and the head chef even came round to say hello. Called in for an impromptu early supper with my mum. The banana leaf dish was not available, chef came out and explained why and talked to my mum about what else he could offer as a vegetarian. He was very kind, thoughtful and they agreed on a brilliant roasted aubergine lasagne. I had fish and chips, my fave and I was super hungry!Mum was delighted with her dish and even better that chef Christian actually bought our food to the table and popped out after to see how we’d got on. Very nice service and a nice man. Ellen looked after drinks and she was fab too.Only marked atmosphere as five because I’ve been before, but this was a Tuesday at 5pm so pretty quiet.We’ll be back!

We thought we were lucky to get a last minute booking for Sunday lunch yesterday. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and seated. It was busy but had a nice buzz. We waited and waited but no one came to even take a drink order. At one point someone asked the name on my booking but that was it. When a table that arrived after us had an order taken enough was enough. After nearly 15 minutes of sitting there we left. I am happy to wait when it’s busy but a simple ‘won’t be long’ or ‘ be with you shortly would suffice and even though I caught the waitresses eye she just ignored us. We were seated by the entrance to the restaurant on a table that seats 4 for your reference. Such a shame.

Quaint gastro pub, good menu. My fish dish was delicious. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic when it was served to me! Hubby had burger and chips, which is exactly as it came, no side salad or decoration, so looked a bit bare for the price.The desserts again were delicious. I had the cocktail with mini pavlova, hubby had sticky toffee pudding.We would definitely visit again if in the area. Added bonus of being motorhome friendly for self sufficient units.

Good food in a traditional location. Reasonable value for money - recently have had items missing from the menu restricting choices for people with dietary needs.
Slightly disappointing menu to choose from and a poor choice of beers for this kind of establishment.Can't fault the service, although one of our plates had components missing from the burger. Soon put the right but it should have come to the table correct in the first place!!
