I had an appointment at the hospital. Wh smiths is only very small as its inside the hospital, great for a paper and coffee. Not so good if you want to buy magazines if your visiting. It used to carry loads of mags, word search books and puzzle books, just seems like the odd few papers now. It's more into coffee, drinks and cakes. The lady on the counter was on her own, rushed off her feet she was so nice to everyone. A real credit. Why is this world hell bent on stretching It's resources, no staff, working alone, employers don't give a dam. Just rubbish. I felt so sorry for the girl. Thank you to her, well done lovely.

I work at Good Hope on Mondays, and it recently occurred to me that maybe 50% of not asking to be elsewhere and tolerating the longer commute is the staff in this WH Smith. They're just so bloody nice! Even though I'm only there one day a week, they remember my order. They're chatty and always smiling so I'm very relieved that they're my caffeine dealers on a Monday when I need my fix the most. It's a really handy little place with the usual newspapers etc but also stocks a convenient selection of sandwiches and other quick grab and go foods. I adore them for giving a staff discount on their Costa coffee. If only the NHS valued us as much! I have a strong belief that lots of coffee is the solution to pretty much everything. They also serve as our providers of cut price chocolate for Monday afternoons with the WH Smith £1 specials on bars of Cadbury bars etc. So I'm getting fatter, but am less stabby. If you're stuck in Good Hope, pay them a visit! They'll cheer you up. I promise.
