Great food and service but the nan was a bit dry and the grill items were good. The curry portions were a bit smaller than expected.

South Africa were playing Bangladesh in the cricket World Cup, it offered a great backdrop to the lunch. The mixed grill lived up-to its top tier billing, the prawns were standout stunning. I felt the mixed grill was perhaps too chicken dominated, definitely scope for some more meat diversity. The luminosity of the mint sauce activated a need for mathematical and scientific research within me.Here is a short synopsis of my googled findings. In order to calculate luminosity, the mathematical constant "pi" (3.14) is used. The distance of the object from Earth in square meters is multiplied by the object's brightness in watts per square meters. That is then multiplied by 3.14 and then again by 4 to calculate luminosity.Overall the food and atmosphere was 5 stars and I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch. My only tip for improvement is for the venue to clearly define whether it is a pub or a restaurant. The ordering process wasn’t implicit.I am looking forward to my next visit.

Nice big clean place, to order your food you can use QR app code fixed on the table. Once you have order your food some one will come and confirm your order and take your money. Nice atmosphere, tea and coffee also available. You can see the food being prepared in the kitchen. Private booths are available. There is separate bar area where you can just have drinks.

It is one of the best Indian grills we have had in the Midlands. We also had a lamb curry, which was excellent. We had the regular grill, which came with couple of varieties of chicken (chicken tikka, garlic chicken, chicken wings amongst others) and a lamb sheek (moist and flavourful unlike most I have had). My personal criticism would be the lack of lamb chops in the regular mixed grill (that we like and most other Indian grill places include). The grill portion was massive, but the curry for the price is a little smaller in comparison. It served us well nonetheless. We also had the masala chips (which was delicately spiced and had a nice crunch), Pilau rice (nice), and plain naan (i have had better in other similar grill restaurants) Overall, good choice of bar drinks, friendly service, clean enviornment and decent pricing.Parking: Fair amount of parking area but not many places were left when we went on a saturday evening

Food was average, had a large mixed grill for £22 mostly chicken, 2 peices if fish and 2 kebabs. No lamb chops which is disappointing compared to other places that add that . No side salad either unless you pay for it .Had masala chips with it for an extra £3

The food was good. It would better go for the naan breads with the curry ?Briyani is hot in a ceramic container. It's harder to cook these in a short time.I liked the venue, which has book shelves and local bar within.I liked the onion fried rice ? with the naan and okra options.

The venue is very clean and inviting. However the room was very hot and we had to ask for a move . The food was excellent and well presented. There are a lot of staff which is a sign how busy they are , also very friendly and helpful .

Visit the Red Lion regularly on our travels to West Bromwich. On this particular visit the service was below par. We were one of the first to arrive at the restaurant and somehow ended up getting our order after the others that arrived. What is really frustrating is that one items was not available on the menu and not even a small gesture was made to compensate for the unavailable item.Overall I don’t to deter anyone from visiting this establishment as the food is good.

Very disappointing. Had good reviews last year.Atmosphere wasn't good.Portions were far too big but quality of food disappointing.Mixed grill was all chicken except for one small piece of sheikh kebab.Main courses were so hot with chilli they were practically inedible.Wine was poor quality too.Won't be returning.

Well it's been a while since our last visit, and it has changed. The pub is really nicely decorated and has a good vibe the smell from the food is beautiful. We sat at our table and you get 2 Qr codes for menus 1 for food and another for drinks. Once you place you order on the website they come over with a card reader or can pay cash. We got inside roughly 8.30 so not so late, we ordered drinks they were fine and have a good selection. We then ordered food which took a little time 1 hour, while waiting we saw all the mixed grills piled high and look lovely at other tables. When ours arrived an hour after we ordered, we were disappointed as we ordered large mixed grill for 4 of us that looked nothing like the others the staff brought to other tables. We then had noticed that they didn't add fish pakoras on the grill which cost £22. Overall the food was OK not the best around we have eaten at better places for less money, the wait is around an hour for you food and we didn't seem to impressed. The mixed grill was abit of a let down as portion size was not as big as other peoples from what we saw and they forgot to add fish on which was paid for, also the curry was just ok nothing to rave about again we have had better.

Awesome Punjabi pub, spacious with delicious food. First time trying their food after hearing so much about it and we wasn’t disappointed. Their mix grill was nice, what stood out where the chilli chips and the butter chicken.. literally top tier food, i for one loved it and look forward to heading back soon. The service was good, the atmosphere was pleasant.. avoid going on game days.. however it is a family oriented place during my visit.

The chicken tikka curry is amazing but has downsized and is mainly sauce these days. The service is getting slower and it would be nice to have the option to pay after the meal! Also if I ask for sauce please don’t give me a plate with 1 ketchup, 1 vinegar and 1 salt! I also recently asked for a bigger table because we ordered quiet a lot of food and several drinks each, we were told that we couldn’t and it was difficult to eat on such a small table. Yes red lion has become even more popular but the service is starting to suffer. As a regular it is becoming tedious

This was our 1st time going here and there was 9 of us as it was my nephews 18th. It has been tastefully decorated and for a Monday night we were quite shocked to see how packed it was. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was amazing. Nice portion sizes aswell. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that there is no air conditioning and when your in a busy restaurant it can get hot.
