Such a lovely, welcoming place to stay. Thank you Jackie and Rob for making me feel so at home. One very tiny suggestion - a little shelf in the shower for shower gel /shampoo etc would be really helpful.

Well done to the friendly hosts who supplied a comfortable, warm room. You may or may not enjoy the informal atmosphere of sleeping and eating in someone's house, but as they didn't mind neither should you! Special shout out for breakfast. All too often the small places either skimp on quality, care or both, or charge you too much. None of these were problems. There was a wide choice, all cooked to order (place said order the night before). I went for scrambled egg and smoker salmon, with unlimited cereal/muesli, individual yoghurt and fresh OJ toast and (some) homemade jam which is always a treat. £10 for that.

Thank you for a wonderful stay, really loved it. So friendly and welcoming. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable. Great touch to have wine/tea/coffee/fresh milk/scones in room. Lovely garden. Beautifully cooked breakfast. Bonus of a very pleasant walk to a great pub, the Bell at Trysull. All just what we needed before our daughter’s wedding.

An overnight stay visiting relatives. A friendly greeting from Jackie and to our comfortable room to be greeted with an array of drinks, including wine, and delicious cake. Breakfast was up amongst the best we've had which set us up for the day, we suggest a lighter evening meal the day before to fully appreciate and try all the conserves. The cottage had some interesting architectural detail which Rob was happy to explain. We hope to make more visits and spend longer in the craft shop, a quilters Alladins Cave.

A wonderful reception. Freshly home-baked cake, lemon drizzle in my case. I was VERY tempted to wander downstairs and ask (Dickens style) "more please sir". I was given a jug of fresh milk. There was even a small bottle of wine, with proper wine glasses. When I returned from dinner at the pub, I was then given a stainless steel thermos with more fresh milk, for my morning cuppa. Lovely room with just about every requirement catered for. If you don't find the type of tea or coffee you require One of the most delicious breakfasts I have ever had. Home made conserves ?. Excellent fresh fruit salad. Plenty of good quality bacon. I stayed to break my journey between Dorset and Merseyside. If you're looking for a quick break off the motorway, this isn't for you, as it's a bit out of the way. If you want to treat your stay as a mini holiday, definitely book White Cottage! This was my first stay, but definitely won't be my last (I hope!)

Wonderful welcome, comfortable room with lovely decor and all the facilities we needed as well as some treats. Great breakfast with good choice but most of all the hosts themselves make this special.

Really recommend this guest house. Beautifully situated in a quiet , sleepy village. There is a corner shop if you need provisions. The welcome tray was superb - wine, cake, biscuits, coffee, tea etc. The breakfast was delicious, very well cooked and the cereals and home made jams were lovely. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The ensuite shower room was clean and well appointed with shower gel and soap etc. Altogether a really happy experience which I can unequivocally recommend.

I have stayed here on three separate occasions, and each time, I have received a very warm welcome. It's a totally different feel than staying at a corporate company. As the sign says in their cottage, " arrive strangers and leave as friends." The room was home from home with an ensuite, freshly baked cake ech day waiting for me with a small bottle of wine and a bottle of water. I would highly recommend White Cottage to anyone, and I will be back.

Wonderful B&B, hosts Jackie and Rob were fabulous and caring for our every need. Very comfortable and clean. My first visit and hopefully not my last. The freshly cooked English Breakfast was delicious. I meet Jackie & Rob as strangers, but left feeling they are friends. The quilt shop is an Aladdin’s cave, wonderful selection of fabric, one happy guest.
