I was really looking forward to my first visit to this restaurant but after this experience I won’t return. We had a table booked for 13 of us. The table had been booked weeks in advance and we had also pre ordered our food to help out the staff. The table was booked for 18:00 and as we arrived the restaurant was empty. Even though we’d booked weeks in advance we’d been allocated 2 separate tables, even though upon booking we were told a table of 13 wasn’t an issue. By 7pm it became clear why we had to have 2 tables. The restaurant isn’t the biggest but the owners had clearly added a few more smaller tables to fit in more people. Packed in like sardines comes to mind. Anyway after starters, mains and a few bottles of wine between the table the owner comes racing in telling us that we are too loud. Now rather than a “excuses me” can you keep the noise down or have a quiet word with one of us he was rude and angry. Now at this point I must add that the group of 13 was made up of couples all in their late 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. We were all shocked by this as nobody believed we were loud other than holding conversations between the two tables, which the restaurant had changed. From that moment the whole demeanour of the staff changed. The attitude towards us was disgusting. We were all in the process of ordering deserts but changed our minds immediately. Our bill was over £600 for starter and mains. £92 per couple. The food (pasta) was very nice but clearly overpriced. If you like overpriced pasta, crammed in like sardines and rude staff, this is the place for you…. If you like none of the above stay well clear.

Over priced for basic food. Table cloths more suited for children’s birthday party. Would have expected better quality. Service charge automatically added to the bill

Wow, what an authentic and great value restaurant. We popped in for a quick lunch, two courses for £15. The food was excellent, the service superb. A beautiful gem of a restaurant.

Our favourite Italian never disappoints. From the welcoming staff to the delicious food, prepared as we watch (no shortcuts here), La Campania is the place we always choose for birthdays and anniversaries, or simply as a break from cooking. The setting is a beautiful old building on Arundel’s High Street, near the Castle walls.

From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Lovely and friendly restaurant with beautiful food. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Arundel. Also very reasonably priced with big portions! They have a vast vegan/ vegetarian menu too which was great for the vegans in our group to have so much choice.

Lovely venue and location but poor food. I had a carbonara which contained burnt bacon and not pancetta and the sauce just tasted of warm water and not eggy at all. My partner had tagliatelle prawn which had no flavour. Do not usually leave reviews but the food here was particularly bland. I must say, we saw lots of other dishes come out for other tables which looked lovely so maybe we just picked the wrong dishes for this restaurant

We had a lovely evening here following a recommendation. You need to book as understandably popular. Food was great quality, good portions and we felt really good value.

We have recently moved to the Arundel area and thought we'd try this Italian restaurant. We weren't disappointed, such a lovely place. The atmosphere was great.....the food was amazing. Although they were really busy the service was excellent. Would have loved to try a dessert but didn't have any room. Will definitely be returning.Thank you

This was our first visit to this lovely restaurant, and we have to say, we loved everything. We (3 of us) ordered from the set menu, which was very reasonably priced and a good selection of dishes. Each course was generous, very presented, and extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. We can recommend it and we're already planning our next visit.

Great lunch time menu with large portions for the set courses. Also plenty of choice for those with a vegan/ vegetarian diet. Lovely food and good service

Food was lovely, we all really enjoyed our main dishes which were varied and crossed the broad menu - i.e. pasta based, pizza, fish with veg, chicken etc. All dishes were delicious - portions very generous, all arrived at the same time, all piping hot ! Deserts were as good as the mains. This is how it should be done - thanks to chefs & staff - we will be back !!

Seriously good pizza. Good sauce and cheesy cheese.Had the Milanese and spaghetti for main and that was possibly even better. Really enjoy our food here. A big bottle of Peroni will set you back £8 though, the only downside to great food.
