The most wonderful lunch, beautifully presented, perfectly cooked with wonderfully nuanced flavours, all clear and clean, that which should be crisp was, and that which should be soft and blended was - simply gorgeous - as was the understated attendance by all front of house.

Lovely pub. Far exceeded our expectations. Lovely cosy atmosphere in the evening and very polite staff. We had beef burger and also the halloumi and roasted pepper burger. Both were really tasty and we really loved the large side salad which was more exciting than just leaves, with other veggies and a tasty dressing. The effort to add the salad and make it just a bit more exciting than average really made the meal that much better. Amazing caramel sea salt brownie for dessert too!
We will certainly be back, thank you.

Amberley Museum is always a great place to visit for a day out. There’s plenty to see and do, and the different events they put on keep things fresh and interesting every time. It’s somewhere you can happily return to again and again and still enjoy it just as much.

What a great little gem in Arundel! As we were checking out the menu outside I changed my choice three times and then changed it twice more when we were seated, just because it all sounded so delicious. And it tastes delicious too! Served with a smile, for free ? - and plenty of veggie options.
It was empty when we went in and was fully booked 15 minutes later, so don't let that stop you. Highly recommended!

We were served by Connie ,a very lovely and customer attentive server/waitress.
She is constantly scanning the room and therefore aware of any situation or a customers needs premptively.
Connie is a credit to the hospitality industry and I am surprised that she hasn't been headhunted .
We will return next Goodwood revival or FOS and hope that she will still be here .
Well done to Connie and thank you to the team that train her ,.
Finally, well done to the chef and his team , perfect food during our 3 night stay.

An unexpected treasure within Arundel. Excellent small plates, third wave coffee, fresh pastries to rival any bakery in east London. The focaccia bread is baked downstairs in big, lustrous sheets, and is perfectly pillowy and crispy.

The cafe was really nice and had a lovely atmosphere. We had a drink and pastry and the pastries were delicious. The service was very slow, however it was really busy.
The thing that spoilt it for me was a couple with a fairly large dog, were seated next to us and the tables were very close to each other. The dog was quite excitable and I was hit by it's tail several times. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause an issue.
I don't have a problem with dogs but I wonder if there could be a specific area for people and their dogs.

Incredible find! Phenomenal food and atmosphere : )
Loved the interior as well as the very cool staff !

Edit 2025: The above was when they had a chef and operating kitchen.
Totally understand the financial pressures and no longer proving in house dining - but subsequent couple of visits do not reflect the ‘original’ experience.

Great town pub with a good range of beers and oodles of character. We didn’t have food. We visited on a Friday evening to meet with family and watch the marvellous local R&B band Hot Tamales as The Eagle has a small area for local bands to gig.

Arrived at this fabulous old pub for a Birthday meal today,it did not disappoint. Our meals of Haddock and Scampi arrived quickly well cooked and plentiful. The staff were cheerful and chatty. The fire was burning making it feel cosy. Plenty of car parking.

Popped in for a quick ice cream stop with the family. Cute coffee shop. Great friendly service from the lady serving. We chose a scoop of ice cream each. Strawberry, bubblegum, vanilla, mint choc chip and rum and raisin. All delicious. Was a lovely treat before leaving Arundel to start our long return journey home.
