Fresh ingredients and so well put together. The team are amazing and would highly recommend this establishment to anyone! Vegan/Meat and pescatarian menus/offers available. Children’s options are great and takeaway also available. Portions are generous so make sure you’re hungry because every bit is totally worth it!!! ??

The Old Stables
Fontwell Park, Fontwell, Fontwell Ave, ArundelWe were served by Connie ,a very lovely and customer attentive server/waitress.
She is constantly scanning the room and therefore aware of any situation or a customers needs premptively.
Connie is a credit to the hospitality industry and I am surprised that she hasn't been headhunted .
We will return next Goodwood revival or FOS and hope that she will still be here .
Well done to Connie and thank you to the team that train her ,.
Finally,well done to the chef and his team , perfect food during our 3 night stay.

Houghton Bridge, Amberley, ArundelArrived at this fabulous old pub for a Birthday meal today,it did not disappoint. Our meals of Haddock and Scampi arrived quickly well cooked and plentiful. The staff were cheerful and chatty. The fire was burning making it feel cosy. Plenty of car parking.

We called and booked a table and recieved a very warm welcome when we arrived. It was hard to choose what to have as the menu looked so good. Our food was absolutely delicious - the chef even made us a peppercorn sauce which wasn't on the menu. The service was first class - warm, efficient and friendly. Would absolutely recommend this gem of a place. Thank you for a lovely meal!

We sat outside next to the river which provided a great view. We didn’t have the cakes but seeing them inside we could see a lovely range.

41 High St, ArundelBeautifully cooked tasty steaks, and we both really enjoyed our evening. I had rump, and my partner had the sirloin, both with perfect fries. We had a side of portobello mushrooms and green veg which was also cooked bang on. Service was great - friendly and polite, attentive but didn’t interrupt at inappropriate moments. We been previously for breakfast which we can also really recommend. Lovely atmosphere and all round great evening. We will be back again.

3-5 Mill Ln, ArundelI booked in advance online but wasn't even asked on arrival. The restaurant was already fairly full at 7pm on a Friday. The drinks came pretty quickly but there was about a 30 minute wait for the food. The menu choices were many and varied, with a few unusual twists on favourites. When arrived, the food was hot, tasty and very good portions.
The chatter level was quite high but the acoustics were very good and our conversation wasn't disturbed. Will give this popular restaurant another go soon.

London Rd, ArundelBooked immediately after Hotel Inspector programme as rooms looked very good, and wanted to visit Arundel Castle & churches etc. Great rooms on ground floor, excellent dinner and very good continental breakfast on weekday. Very kind, helpful and hospitable staff and owner. Would highly recommend.

12 Queen St, ArundelLovely genuine local pub that is mostly (thank heavens !!) overlooked by the tourist hoards and hence serves as a haven of normality. As a regular (non touristic) visitor to Arundel this is easily my favourite place to hide and drink excellently kept Harvey's Best whilst having a friendly chat with the locals.

Andy and Amy are lovely people, they provided delicious, beautifully presented, authentic Japanese dishes. Great feedback was recieved from all guests.
The small caravan is lovely, and really suits any garden themed wedding party Would recommend to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine.

9 High St, ArundelI’ve eaten here twice in the past month and following a visit yesterday with my daughter, I want to leave a review as we were looked after by Jeanette for the second time.
This is a great little café with excellent food. Their bubble and squeak with poached eggs was really tasty, and this time I had poached eggs with smashed avocado and salad which was equally good.
Highly recommend this café in Arundel.

We had beef burger and also the halloumi and roasted pepper burger. Both were really tasty and we really loved the large side salad which was more exciting than just leaves, with other veggies and a tasty dressing. The effort to add the salad and make it just a bit more exciting than average really made the meal that much better. Amazing caramel sea salt brownie for dessert too!

Served with a smile, for free ? - and plenty of veggie options.
It was empty when we went in and was fully booked 15 minutes later, so don't let that stop you. Highly recommended!

The thing that spoilt it for me was a couple with a fairly large dog, were seated next to us and the tables were very close to each other. The dog was quite excitable and I was hit by it's tail several times. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause an issue.
I don't have a problem with dogs but I wonder if there could be a specific area for people and their dogs.

Strawberry, bubblegum, vanilla, mint choc chip and rum and raisin. All delicious. Was a lovely treat before leaving Arundel to start our long return journey home.

Bury Hill, Houghton, ArundelBeen going here for years staff always friendly foods good reasonable prices , lovely place to relax in the summer the toilets are back open again.
Gets very busy with bikes in nice weather.
Update 24/4/25 it's now free to park for the moment the lease on the cafe is not being renewed by the Norfolk estate so in October the ownership will change hands it's rumoured that an upmarket cafe with indoor seating is planned .
Not sure of the plans for the old cafe the car parking will be pay and display I believe.
The changes are also to deter motorbikes due to many complaints of antisocial riding and noise, this place has been a destination for motorbikes for many years but all this will be lost in October

The Holly Tree
Hollytree Cottage, The St, Walberton, ArundelGave this place a try around 6pm on a Sunday after having no clue where to go and having made my decision by searching the local area and reading previous reviews; and I'm so glad I did. They held on for me before closing the kitchen and it really was a gem of a find in a lovely village. The place was just brilliant and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. I dined in the restaurant area, which was very nicely done and clean.
Being a Sunday and the early evening, I was expecting only roast dinners and for them to be sold out, but in fact they had a wide choice of food and were still able to cater for roast dinners, including specific dietary requirements, which was nice to see.
It was such a nice change to find somewhere that was not only decent, but really exceeded expectations. I decided to have a roast in the end and went with the turkey breast and it was one of the nicest roasts I've had, followed by a chocolate brownie and ice cream, which with the biscuit crumb on the side too, was also really nice.
I would definitely recommend The Holly Tree to anyone and will be back again with friends and family in the near future, hopefully with the sun shining to enjoy the lovely garden and outdoor seating they have there too.
