Pubs in Arundel

“We had a family meal here while out for a walk. Food came in a reasonable time and a decent size and price. Sometimes had difficulty catching the eye of staff.Draught beer and cider includes Stowford Press, Neck Oil and Proper Job which went down well.I had a halloumi burger which had a lovely amount of halloumi and it wasn't chewy but soft, great mix with pesto and peppers. Husband had steak and kidney suet pudding which was a favourite and the rest of the table had scampi (great big fat chips that were crispy and soft inside) and then mackerel pate and prawn cocktail (starters so they could justify dessert). The st Clements cheesecake was full of citrus but no orange and very creamy, otherwise didn't pack much flavourToilets clean and well looked after”

“Great hidden free house. Owner is a character and a professional. If you expect posh and luxury its not for you. But if your goal is to spend good time having nice pint with friendly locals, i highly recomend.”

“Food and service were good, beer was nice, but as with most of these craft beer and food venues they are not that reasonably priced. I don't mind paying a fair price for good food but these places are slowly pricing most of us out. 3 out of 4 of us had a sandwich and a soft drink and it cost nearly 60 quid.I had the full English and a Beer (non-driver )”

“Idyllic hardly describes the location of this delightful pub. High up on the South Downs it feels as if it’s from another world. We had an excellent lunch (burgers, cider and coffee), service was wonderful. I hesitate to recommend this place it’s so special!”

“We came by this restaurant by chance. We were attending Goodwood Revival and staying nearby. We thought we would pop in on the Friday evening for a drink, while in we read the menu and decided to book a table for the Saturday evening. We were so glad we did, the food was excellent as was the service provided by Leilah our waitress (a credit to the business, outstanding) all of the staff were very friendly and efficient. Must recommend the chocolate honeypot dessert, it is delicious. All of the food was excellent. We decided to eat here again on the Sunday too due to the quality of food and service and again we weren’t disappointed. Top marks, well done. There is also a great seated area which looks fantastic for the summer.”

“Food was good solid traditional British pub fayre of yesteryear, decent ale selection that was well kept, and service was excellent. They seemed to be playing country music all evening though, which puts me off going back. I have a VERY low tolerance for country music though, so maybe that just me :”
