This was by far the best Chinese in burgess hill can’t believe how bad it’s turned out to be I had black bean the entire dish was discoloured it appears to have been out of date was honestly impossible to eat I got multiple dishes the only one I finished was the salt and pepper chips such a shame used to love these guys guessing a lot of people stopped going and instead of refreshing there produce they doubled down and are trying to push out old stock without refreshing such a shame these people where the best :(

We have always used dragon and peacock however not anymore. The lady that serves is so rude and always wants me to go to the cash machine which always annoys me when the order is already over 20 pounds! Issue with order this eve and all I get is, it’s your problem. Won’t be going there anymore.

Once upon a time, this was in the top 3 Chinese take away establisments in town. Sadly, this was a long, long time ago. We ordered 5 or 6 dishes between our group, and not a single one had any flavour. All very blank and particularly 'meh'.

We ordered food online at 18:40. It arrived at 20:15. I called 3 times. All I was told was that the driver is new. The ‘driver’ left the takeaway at 19:25. It was absolutely disgusting that the owners blame a driver who in new! The driver had lots of deliveries all for the same time of 19:30. Talk about setting your driver up to fail. Shocking way to blame staff rather than take responsibility and either get more drivers or do not promise a time commitment you can not meet. Will not order again. Food was below average, which is not surprising after being shunted around in a car for so long. Steer clear!

Pretty good salt and pepper ribs, but the worst beef in black bean sauce I've ever had with pretty average egg fried rice. Barely edible. No flavour, bland thin sauce, broiled beef, and loads of thick cut onion. I like onion, but not when it seems to be most of the dish. I won't be going back.

Have been disappointed,been using for over 15 years,but over the last 2 years slowly going downhill with the food itself,keep giving it another chance,but with the poor food and price increases each time we have ordered our last one,with regret,sorry
Has been in the same family for a few generations. A well known business. Sadly when the original owners retired I don't think the next generation had the same passion. May now have been sold out of the family. Fairly standard fare (the wholesaler delivers each morning), albeit cooked to order as you can hear as you wait in the sparse counter area. Photos are accurate of what you can expect. Portion sizes have decreased somewhat and the high value protein items have reduced. Convenient central location in town, but if you walk up he hill past the railway station Hin Mins offers better value. Another long established family business (with full restaurant as well) that guarantee they do not use MSG.

Very overpriced cost me £9 for special fried rice with curry sauce on top. Food was bland and no where near worth the cost. Safe to say I will never be visiting this place again!

I ordered the Chinese food in the takeaway when visiting my parents in burgess hill. Really impressed with the flavours and taste here compared to others, also much better in my area! My parents told us it had been there over 50 years. We will definitely come back from it next time?
