Moby's has been a very special place for fish and chips for a good many years, in fact we have been using them ourselves since 1984. At one point they has a restaurant next door which was equally excellent but to keep their products more reasonably priced they decided to concentrate on a take out service only.Today they continue to operate very successfully but for optimum service is is always best to call and place your order in advance. Just turning up at the restaurant, especially during the summer months could lead to a long wait.As far as their products are concerned, they are top class. They try to maintain their prices but have to rely on market forces which can make it necessary to reduce fish sizes. Even so there is a choice of 3 fish sizes and the biggest size is quite adequate for two portions.Without going into more detail all I can add is that although I haven't sampled all the similar shops in the country, in my view the place that comes close to Moby's for products and service isin Tasmania. Please don't make detrimental comments based on on a single poor experience. There are other options but most local people will agree that Moby's provide perfectly acceptable good value food and service. So you don't really need to head off to Tasmania to get anything close! Stopped here last night when I was passing but won’t be going again. Not worth the money and not very nice . Over £7 for a small cod and chips cod was ok at best and very small chips dry and crispy definitely won’t be spending my money there again .

I had a bad take away from here a couple of years ago and thought I’d give it another try tonight rather than driving into Chichester.Have to say it was by far the worst tasting fish and chips I’ve ever had.Large Cod was dry and is NOT large it is a regular size at best (£7.50 each). The chips was soggy and needed cooking longer and had no taste. When I called to complain the manager told me “well that’s the size of the large cod I’m afraid” although she did offer to give me an item for free on my next order. I told her won’t be returning and all she said was ok thanks for letting me know! Why would I go back and get ripped off again? Not good enough only reason why i didn’t give 1 star is the cashier was very friendly was polite and greeted me nicely.

We were a Party of 4 on a weeks vacation staying in West Wittering. We asked a few locals what the best Chippy was in the Area & they said Mobys. We visited one Lunchtime & had a selection of Cod & Haddock with Chips. All was cooked to perfection & the portions were Generous & Excellent Value.

Family have had meals from here before, I have to say the food was really good, nice size portions. My wife and I had the medium size cod and that was the right size for us, my only issue with the cod is that it was a little tough other than that really nice meal. One thing I could not get my head around was the ordering and ticket numbers, you get a random number (we were 63) customers coming in after us were getting numbers in their 30’s and they were getting food before us which was a little frustrating and also seems a little inefficient.

Greasy small portions of fish. Chips were OK at a push

Queued up for about 30 minutes and eventually got the smallest pieces of fish, like children's portions. Lots of chips but sadly, very disappointing fish.
