Pallant Cafe chichester
9 N Pallant, ChichesterI received a voucher for afternoon tea at the Pallant cafe for Christmas, but only managed to find a date in the diary in August - however this was well worth the wait. What a find! The staff were amazing, really welcoming, helpful and nice. We had a glass of Tinwood sparkling wine which was delicious, and the tea itself was gorgeous. We had one sandwich each and instead of the common 3 or 4 different finger sandwiches, we had alternative savoury offerings of a tiny flan and a delicious sausage roll with a difference, followed by really tasty scones with jam and cream and finally cakes and a blood orange panna cotta - OMG how divine! This was just a delightful way to spend the afternoon. I would thoroughly recommend it and I will be returning very soon.

The Hole In The Wall
1, Jay Walk, 1 St Martin's St, ChichesterWhat a find. Stopped in there last night for dinner ahead of picking up the south downs way where we left off. Great food, and some very nice ales. Then, to top off, it was their open mic night. It was a joy to watch as Sarah (I think that was her name), not only performed some great numbers with the house band, but was SO encouraging and created such a supportive atmosphere for some young talent. A great community pub that I wish was my local.

The Bosham Inn
Main Rd, Bosham, ChichesterWe met friends, who were holidaying in the area, for lunch and since they have a dog we ate in the bar area. This was perfect and relaxed and a nice touch for dog owners. Our food was good, everyone liked what they had chosen, though our waitress was lacking in any social graces, with “What do you want.” This didn’t spoil our meal since the person at the bar was excellent and friendly, but I’d like the server at least to be interested and polite. However, we have been here many times over the years and know that this is not the norm. Having eaten in many local pubs and restaurants, the Bosham Inn is one we will return to for relaxed and reasonably priced pub grub.

30B Southgate, ChichesterWhat an incredible place. I came on my own to see what it was like. I was blown away by the service. The bartender was professional, yet really warm and welcoming. The host Kaila, was a warm bubbly character who made me feel so welcome in the bar. The cocktails were incredible. I’ve had a fair few cocktails in my time and they blew them all out the water. Tasted incredible and I can’t wait to come back. Cosy autumnal vibes and perfect for someone wanting to come in and read a book alone or a cosy date! Thank you so much for making me feel welcome and well done for making this place incredible! Highly recommend. 5 stars all round.

The Earl Of March
Lavant Rd, ChichesterOh my goodness I haven't visited the Earl of March for about 8 years. Went for lunch today with my daughter and it was fabulous! Helen was looking after us and she was amazing, so friendly and helpful. We both had the homemade fish finger sandwich with chips and a delicious salad and it was literally divine. I could eat it over and over, and it was underpriced in my opinion. I'd have happily paid more than the £9.50 they asked for. Seriously good and I'll not wait another 8 years before returning.Parking: Handy and right outside the pub. They've got room for at least 20+ cars

Four Chesnuts
234 Oving Rd, The Hornet, ChichesterMy great nephew and I went to The Four Chesnuts on Friday July 28th evening . We played games of pool, had great chats with other customers, had some lovely friendly talk with the staff and enjoyed some very tasty food. My great nephew had fish fingers, baked beans and garlic bread and I enjoyed four sausages, mashed potato and a Yorkshire pudding filled with gravy and onion rings. There was more gravy with the potato too. Really good pub food at reasonable prices. It’s a very friendly pub where everyone says hello and if you want, carries on with good conversations ! There’s also a dart board as well as pool table and televisions screening current sport etc. but with the volume at ‘sensible’ levels . If you’re looking for a friendly, traditional pub with a fantastic staff team - The Four Chesnuts is where you’re looking for !

Memories of India
Roundabout, Kieran Cl, Old Bridge Rd, Bosham, ChichesterWe had some great take-away from here the other night with only one issue - both our palak paneer and matar paneer had....not a single piece of paneer! I'm sure it must have been a mistake but what a shame. The butter chicken was yummy (though a bt too much on the sweet side) and the aloo gobi was really good, too. Bill's Chichester Restaurant
3, Buttermarket, North St, ChichesterVisited for a lunchtime snack. Was dining alone so seated on a small table in a crowded corner of the restaurant, not a big issue for me. Chose eggs benedict and fresh mint tea. The latter was excellent, but the poached eggs were served on ham which was much colder than room temperature hence 4 stars rather than 5 for Food. Prices were reasonable and there was a discretionary 10 per cent service charge added to the bill

Wellies Tearooms
oldwick therapy center, W Stoke Rd, ChichesterI love this place ...my second time today and as good as the first. The coffee is delicious, and the homemade cakes and Scones are just amazing. The staff cater to all your needs and are friendly. I'm going again on Saturday as there is a harvest festival across the road.

Gribble Inn
Gribble Ln, Oving, ChichesterSunday lunch was one of the best we had for a long time, just don't have breakfast as the portion is XL. The staff were very friendly and couldn't help enough. Also, they have a great range of their own beer, which taste great. The only downside is that we don't live close enough to go to each week!

Lal Bar
3 Hillfield Rd, Selsey, ChichesterFood decent but lacked a flavour punch you'd expect with tapas. We pre ordered as a large group but it didn't seem to make a difference in making a smoother service. Unfortunately some tapas dishes came out with the server unaware of what it was and having to get it checked which resulted in food delay and food going a bit cold.
