Not so great. Had to wait so long for the breakfast. Coffee was cold, portion is tiny. Don't think that I visit again.

Weird. If they're having trouble with the internet they can't serve anyone. Twenty minutes wasted. Can't even take cashUpdate - after my complaint the staff were extremely apologetic and helpful and did in fact end up taking cash. Food is good and once they sort out a back up system should the internet go down again I would raise it to 4 stars.

Folks, with even more awareness now of a future cashless society than ever before and what it brings with it, people should be boycotting any establishment that doesn't accept cash. The reviews aren't great anyway.

Disappointing visit. Avoid.Ignored by staff behind counter for a good 10 minutes before getting served. No one in front of us. It wasn't busy. When paying,Told they don't take cash. Water glasses look very discoloured and unpleasant. Table and chairs were covered in food as not been wiped down. We Waited a long time for coffee to be brought to the table.Observed 2 other tables nearby also waiting very long time for food and not served together so one was eating, while other person waiting for their food for long time. Apparently the kitchen had ran out of eggs !!! A crisis in the kitchen being observed by a female manager who sat in the restaurant looking at her laptop and talking to other staff on her mobile!!!! Then she went storming to the kitchen to have a go at staff. Did not give a good impression at all. What a way to run a business. Its a shame because the food looked good.I did not feel welcomed in your cafe and would not recommend to others.

Staff were unfocused ,using phones when meant to be serving customers, wasn't impressed with the food, bread was over toasted and hard ,eggs were hard and were meant to be poached, and sausages were burnt ,can't see us returningVegetarian options: Few vegetarian options

- Food was better than expected.- Front of house team were friendly and efficient.- they could definitely calm down their speed though as there was soooo much clattering about with plates and cups being washed. Surprised anything was still in one piece it was so noisy I found it hard to keep our conversation going at times….and then a tray was dropped. Slow down, it’ll be better all round!- Chap who brought out our food was stroppy as they’d double ordered it for us and was rather accusing and had a surly expression when we declined the second serving to our table of the same dishes (Sat 3rd Feb wearing a tshirt and gillet) which I found unwelcoming.- self service water station and glass could do with a good clean ot the glasses replaced as they’re quite tarnished and cloudy.- reasonably priced- nice clienteleVegetarian options: Some good options. Soup was available too but didn’t actually see that on the menu!

Poor. Nearly half an hour for eggs smashed avo and when it came was completely drowned in Hollandaise. Service was poor staff have no idea what’s going on and the chef was yelling at the staff - very unprofessional!

We were looking for something to eat today and thought we would go into this eatery. In the words of little Britain TV show.( computer says no )?. On account of the rude and abrupt attitude and the lack of interest shown that was displayed by the one and only staff member in there who had the personality of a nat. When we enquired if they had an alternative to Sourdough bread ( most of their choices only used this type of bread for a majority of the lunch time menu choices)....the reply came back from this staff member...nah we only have Sourdough not even looking up from the counter to make eye contact ....so we walked out on disgust!

Went there Thursday 11 Jan :- the melt was nice, but waited over 20mins for it with a hot drink.The table behind me wasn't impressed with the lack of service either!

We have been visiting this cafe for many years and have been very happy with the service and quality of the food and drink. On Wednesday of last week, I ordered our usual pot of tea for 2 and a toasted sandwich for myself and was charged over £11, fair enough so far. When the tea finally arrived, it was already made in 2 VERY small cups, no pot or mugs as usual. When we questioned this, we were told the new manager does not like tea pots and wants to get rid of them. If this is the case, the menu should be changed and we should have been informed at the time of ordering. We were charged £5 for 2 of the smallest cups of tea we have ever been served. I think you will undoubtedly lose custom if this is the way forward. We felt totally ripped off and the response from the guy in the jean jacket who served us was dismissive, bordering rude. Your website, I see, still boasts the pot of Barry's tea. That needs to be updated as it's false advertising, as are your cafe menus.

Service was absolutely terrible. Staff were not that bothered either. Hot chocolate was tepid and tasted foul (so returned it). Waited so long for the rest of our drinks/pastries to be brought to the table, that we gave up and asked for a full refund. We were followed by several other customers who also complained and requested refunds. Never again! This was their cafe in North Street but their East Street cafe wasnt much better.....staff seem clueless.

Walked in on a quiet Sunday afternoon - 3 members of staff behind the counter not overly busy - communication, no eye contact, completely ignored me. Staff need some front of house training.

80 % of the menu was not available as bacon sausages and buns . I do believe the owner was the only one able to cook and make hot drinks. The coffee arrived after my wife nearly finished her food and not prioritised by order time.Counter very messy.
