Very nice food.Sat in garden as sunny day. Got our own drinks at the bar but still charged service charge on drinks as had a tab and had to go to the bar to pay for food.PSReference Royal Oak reply. If the service charge is a mistake, why hasnt a refund been offered to me?

Love this pub hotel. We were very lucky to have the same room as last, big spacious bedroom and great bathroom. Decor fab, very rustic and such a comfortable bed and pillows.Rooms: Spacious, comfortable and cleanFood & drinks: Evening menu was fabA few more options on the breakfast would be good

I was really looking forward to a lunch at this pub.The menu looked interesting but the meal was very disappointing.I chose an item on the menu and was unhappy when my main meal did not contain all the ingredients promised: one of the small portions of meat was tough and chewy, the whole camouflaged by watercress. The price was disproportionate to the helping and its contents.I also found the management's attitude to complaints bizarre.Because I had consumed the dish the management would not entertain comments about its inadequacies. It would have been necessary to cause a scene in front of other guests by chIakallenging the serving staff, rather than a quiet word with the manager.Sorry Royal Oak I feel as "taken" by this experience as I might have felt after an encounter with a pick pocket

Great little gastropub, lovely quiet location. Pub has lovely service and is well priced for food and drink would recommend to everyone. My car broke down and the young lad on the bar made sure I was looked after and offered support etc for the whole time I was here (4.5 hours) no job two big or small! Will definitely be coming

We had a really delicious meal. We went on a Wednesday and used the loyalty card so got 25% off food. The quality of the food was first class and the ingredients were clearly quality. The staff were friendly and efficient. The location is rural but there is a small car park over the road.

Stayed last nightGreat service and ambience great food !!Rooms especially my room number 1 lovely appearance however paper thin walls kept awake by the guest in room 2 snoring all night - I’d stay again however not in the garden rooms !! Home now and off to bed to catch up on sleep - The young lady I told this morning at breakfast thought it was very funny !!Food & drinks: Good food

Only dropped in for a drink after a run up the Trundle. Really nice place and planning to go back for food.

The Royal Oak in East Lavant is the perfect spot for a post-walk roast! The team were very accommodating to our large party and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious and the cosy atmosphere was delightful. I highly recommend his pub.

Restaurant located around 15 minute drive from Chichester. Small car park directly opposite. Traditional cosy and very welcoming traditional English country pub decor including open fire. Friendly and efficient team serving up excellent quality gastro pub food. Scotch Egg particularly good as were faggots and steaks. Highly recommend a visit for lunch or dinner.
