On approaching the restaurant walked past 3 kitchen staff smoking sitting on the grit bins. Booked table online as thought maybe busy but was surprised to find it quite quiet, took ten minutes to get the attention of the waitress to order our drinks and food and then another 50minutes for me to ask and point out that our food was waiting on the serving hatch for the last 5minutes. And then waited an age for us to be offered the desert menus to de the staff then clearing a table that had been left for an hour. The salad bar was poor and half empty and hearing families being told it would be an hour and half for a table when there was only a max of 4 tables with people eating didn’t seem right. On speaking to a staff member was told it was because they have been taken over by the hawth and half the staff have been sacked and the the rest have been cut right back so was only two serving staff on shift.

Omg what a terrible place. When approaching the restaurant there was a group of people all smoking out of the fire exit which seemed to be the staff. We went in only to stand for ages to be seated by by a girl who couldn’t even say hello or look at us. She then seated us at a dirty table which I refused to sit at so moved. We were handed menus in silence and then waited and waited for the waitress to come back. Whilst waiting a couple got up and went to the counter to pay. They were there for ages and in the end they walked out without paying. We decided we didn’t want to wait any longer or give our money over to the restaurant so got up and left. Managed need to be hired that know how to manage and take on staff that actually want to work and not out the fire exit mucking around

Came here for breakfast because we're travelling. The service was so slow and although there were people "floating", it seemed only one young lady was working. Taking orders, serving, showing people to the tables. Ordered coffee which took forever and my husband went to find out where it was. Sitting on a tray and another young girl said "I'm working on it"! Really? Food eventually came out, and to be honest, it wasn't very warm. The kitchen was open to see, and the chef was serving some food with his fingers, then putting food in his mouth. Cutlery wasn't overly clean either, and if we hadn't been hungry with little option for an alternative, I wouldn't have stopped. Certainly won't be coming here again. Not sure how they cope with a full restaurant.

This was the worst experience we have had at any Harvester. We went late afternoon so not very busy, but at first glance tables had not been cleared and staff were not very attentive, more interested in talking to each other. The salad bar was empty and no one was looking to top up. When ordering half the items we chose were not available and when the food we did manage to order arrived it was poorly delivered, looked as if it had just been plonked on the plate and in my case the jacket potatoes was not fully cooked, still hard. We waited an age for someone to come and clear our table but looking around there were many tables where people had finished and left and the tables had just been left with dirty plates and glasses. In the end I had to insist that a young waitress cleared our table before we looked at the desert menu. Really really poor, we won't be going there again and I will think twice about using a Harvester again.

We are a family of 7 who decided to visit on a Saturday night after visiting family. We booked in advance and upon arrival waited 10+ minutes to be seated. We were sat on a wobbly table right by the door with a 4 month old baby on a cold night. which we put up with we ordered our meals and went to the salad cart with was practically empty. Our meals arrived and the restaurant felt like it got colder considering it was -2 outside. Only 2 members of staff were visible front of house. 30 minutes later they came to give us the dessert menus and left the dirty plates on the table. The waitress came back about 20 minutes later and took our dessert menus but still failed to clear our table. 20 minutes later 5 of the 6 desserts arrived I asked the waitress where the 6th was and she said I’ll check where it was. From where we were sat we could see the serving hatch and my dessert was sat getting cold. 30 minutes later after everyone had finished I said to the waitress that I was still waiting, we could see it sitting waiting to be served and that I wanted it taken off the bill which she commented I have been busy. By this time there were approximately 6 tables in the restaurant eating and all the tables were sat in coats and scarves due to how cold the restaurant was and at least 6 dirty tables where people had left and there wasn’t the staff to clear them. We have visited this restaurant several times on the past and it’s always been ok however this time we were left extremely disappointed and frustrated with the lack of service.

After working out where the car park was for this restaurant which we couldn't see anywhere where you had to pay if there even was chargeable hour to pay.We got greeted by one of the happiest waiter I've ever been served by he was a young man which I'm really sorry I didn't catch his name but he needed a five star given to him.I really felt for the staff here they seemed to be under staffed which in my opinion was why the food was taking so long we waited for nearly a hour for our dinner.Which I enjoyed my chicken bacon and waffle the other half had chicken and ribs which has to be the smallest portion sizes I've ever seen definitely wasn't worth the bill off over£47.00 and just the combination of small portion and time waiting is why I gave this 2 star

arrived at the harvester on saturday evening really looking forward to a meal as there are no harvesters in our area and this was a treat before we flew from gatwick airport on our holidays, what a total disappointment. we had not booked as were unsure what time we would arrive but being only 2 of us hoped we would be able to get in. when we arrived and walked around the building we we pleasantly suprised to see that there were plenty of spaces but on going in and asking for a table we were told that they couldnt fit us in as they had 2 large tables to serve. looked around and there were 2 tables of 8-10 people seated, thought they were joking but no..... when we returned from holiday on a wednesday we thought we would try again but when we walked around this time the restaurant was busy and again worried we wouldnt get in but were greeted at the door by a group that were leaving who said they had waited 2 hours for their food and the meat they had received was only fit for their dog, they showed us inside the venue that there were queues around the salad bar as is was empty. again we left without eating......this has really destroyed my faith in harvester

I had a birthday voucher which was very nice. When we arrived we were told we were late, by 3 minutes because they were dealing with the people in front of us who they turned away. Then were told they were closing in 10 minutes, at 7.45pm ! We were eventually seated after the server had a chat with the kitchen staff to see if they would cook for us. We had no cutlery, there was hardly any salad, drinks had mostly run out at the refill. What a terrible experience for your birthday. They need more experienced staff that are not rude and can do their jobs

I'm lost for words just truly the worst restaurant I've visited for a very very long time if you dare risk it and eat here (make sure you have heath insurance). Be prepared to wait and take a good thick coat because bloody freezing probably why food cold And staff move slowly

Food average - missing alot of items. Went for breakfast. The mentioned no beans and mushrooms. Was able to get something else instead. It turned up. No black pudding. Asked about it. Server was having a joke with the chef. When she mentioned food items all I can hear. "We don't worry about" asked for another egg instead as I had already started the breakfast. My egg sat under the heat lamps for 5 mins. I had to ask if my egg can be collected. Service horrific We arrive and got seated 10 mins later someone was over, bearing mind the restaurant was empty. They had 4 people on. When the manager pointed at us, our server then decided to have a chat with the person working the bar. Fast forward to then end of the meal. We had finished and were waiting a further 10-15 mins for plates and bill. Our server kept walking past our table to other empty tables. Then chilling at the bar with a drink. I had to glad someone down to collect the plates and get the bill. Payed the bill and was offered a recipient. I took the offer then was told this is the terminal that is out of paper. Still need the receipt. Came back "as I have paid they cannot transfer it to another terminal to get my receipt. Then just started at me. I needed the receipt. They gave no alternative. By far the worst harvester I have ever been to. There are plenty of nicer places in the area. I suggest going elsewhere

Me and the family thought we'd give this place another go, after the last experience not being quite right, and WOW! What a turn around, the service was incredible! The food was even better! So pleased we decided to give it another go! We will definitely be returning definitely a 10/10.

Disgusting! Everywhere was dirty , staff just sat around having a chat, food was Luke warm tasted as if it sat under heat lamp ages. Toilets were a mess. I definitely won’t be returning in a hurry

Food great, the staff are great the manager knows what they are doing. And the food is so good. Can't wait to go back.
