I had the medium‑rare steak at Coaching Halt, and Chef Joe absolutely delivered. Perfect sear, proper seasoning, juicy all the way through, and that warm pink centre done exactly right. The kind of steak you can tell was cooked by someone who knows what they’re doing. Every bite hit the mark.

My partner had the fish and chips and enjoyed hers a lot too, but the steak was the standout for me. Joe’s clearly got real skill on the grill and keeps the quality consistent every time. Another solid dinner at Coaching Halt, and we’ll definitely be back.

Stopped here for a drink and an early evening meal, greeted by the friendly bar staff, served drinks and then grabbed a table. Good value drinks prices, and delicious food; meals arrived promptly even though the pub was fairly busy. Very tasty, and well presented. The young man who brought our food to us deserves a special mention, he was polite, helpful, a real asset to the team here. I will be returning soon, I recommend this pub.

Food was great. Medium chicken wasn't too spicy, but still tasty. Peas were some of the best I've had. One nitpick, the rice was a bit dry, but nothing some hot sauce couldn't fix.

Service was astonishingly good. I was waiting for people to return from the toilet, and about 20 seconds after they left, someone asked to clear the table. After declining (I was a bit nervous), another employee asked to clear the table 20 seconds later. I accepted this time.

In terms of atmosphere, there's nothing to write about. Expect a restaurant-ish vibe, and the usual Nandos decor.

Overall, a pretty good Nandos.

Absolutely incredible customer service. We visited early in the morning and the waiter Fabio was incredible. To be completely honest my first choice was wetherspoons but their staff there did not seem to be educated in food allergies or Wetherspoons do not seem to value them as customers. Facing it was Giraffe and I was apprehensive about eating there as I had never eaten at one before. They made us feel valued and cared about my son's allergies and even had a tablet with ingredients that trigger the allergies. Flavio was awesome he helped my 11 years son with what meals was available to him and even had time to come back during the meals to see how my son was getting on and want anything else. WELL DONE GIRAFFE, We will visit our local branch fuw to your hospitality.

The garden had a few people in and is a bit of an afternoon/ early evening sun trap but it's let down as grass has been replaced with stones. Rear bar is very dark and dingy with lots of empty space as only a few tables dotted around. Front bar is a bit better but even with only a few people in gets noisy due to a lack of soft furnishings. Staff are friendly welcoming and to be fair a little apologetic as it currently seems to be new owners and a work in progress, may be one to watch when they have a kitchen, but a little on the pricey side for the location.

We had a gift voucher for afternoon tea and decided that even though we only stayed here about 10 days ago, we wanted to try their Christmas themed afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and we were shown to a lovely table near the fireplace straight away despite being half an hour early. The room is warm and inviting with a view out onto the lawn. The menu was explained, and our order was taken quickly and delivered promptly too. The sandwiches were first rate, fresh bread with very tasty fillings and a lovely warm sausage roll. The drinks were replenished throughout our visit. The sweet treats were divine, the star being the Eggnog & Cherry Egg Custard Tart Bauble and the Chocolate and Peppermint Santas Hat, seriously, it was like Christmas in cake form, absolutely delicious! This was followed by two enormous scones each, one plain and one cherry, with oodles of clotted cream and jam, we had to take 3 home with us as by the time we got to them we were beaten. This was definitely one of the nicest afternoon teas we have had and we will definitely come again in the summer to try the non Christmas menu.

Such a lovely meal at AG’s Grill Room at Alexander House! The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly, they even explained each dish which made it feel really special. Loved the little touches like the pre-starters, homemade bread and spread and the petit fours at the end.

A quick lunch with mum . We had sausages rolls and Belgium buns and tea all delicious. I have a couple of downsides I told the server we was eating in but he put two sausage rolls in one bag and the two buns in one bag . No plates or serviettes no sauce I had to help myself to more bags . Also the shop was very dirty mess all over the floor and the customer toilets was very dirty and no toilet roll available . Half the seating area was also closed. This used to be a great place to eat with plates and proper cups it’s hit rock bottom now .

I'm sure I've reviewed this Fish & chip shop in the past years, probably many years ago, as I live in iField it's pretty hard to ignore a local Chip shop, unless of course it's pretty bad, in the last this was the case.
January 2026 & time for an update & pleasantly surprised how good the fish and chips were. The same owner, same place but better service & food. I don't have any complaints to pass on, it's 100% improved and if your passing with a look to try again if you were sceptical in the past I would say give it a go you might be supposed too.

I had a chicken shish with dynamite sauce. My dad had a lamb shish with garlic mayo. First time trying Dynamite sauce. Lives up to its name. Perfect smoothness, flavour and kick blend. The bread I had with it was supple enough so it didn't crack, strong enough to hold what I stuffed in it and still nice and soft. Chips were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Generous salad helping. Pickled chillis spot on. Deep is a legend. The lads from Leeds will be back!

I stopped off here on my way to pick up my dad from Gatwick. I was early and had seen this place before but had never stopped. There was plenty of parking in the lay-by. This place has a steady flow of customers, and I'm not surprised now that I've been here.
You certainly get great value for your money. For breakfast rolls, you're offered a choice of soft, crusty, or French rolls.
I ordered a sausage and egg roll with a cup of tea. I hadn't realized, but the roll had three sausages and two eggs inside! It was too much for me, but I'm quite sure the workmen who were queuing up enjoy their morning rolls. After paying, you're also given a complimentary KitKat!
It's well worth a visit if you're hungry.??
