We had a 6th birthday at pizza express Crawley, March 24 , the staff was fantastic , the place was well organised, good price , they get to make pizza, play party games , they have starter dough balls and veggie sticks, pizza they make, ice cream and squash, and would recommend itKid-friendliness: Fantastic birthday party, staff friendly and good price for kids party

My friend and I had a lovely dinner with bruschetta and American hot pizza and cheesecake for dessert. Attentive friendly service. Were seated straight away and served drinks in 5 minutes , starter 10 minutes later and main 15 minutes after that. We have visited this branch once or twice a year over last twenty years and it was as good as it has always been.

Drove up from Manchester to collect my daughter from Gatwick Airport, so stayed the night in Crawley. Myself and my other daughter decided to visit Pizza Express.. Omg. The waitress had a face like she clearly didn't want to be there, advised our food would be 45 minutes or maybe longer, clearly she didn't give a toss, and looked more disappointed that we said we would waitToilets not very clean, ordered a starter... no side plates.. food arrived over an hour later and was OK. GOOD JOB I'm not a mystery shopper, shocking... it clearly needs looking at who ever is the area manager of the Crawley branch.

Avoid! I don't know if we just had a bad experience or what was going on... it was a Saturday 2pm but the place was almost empty...My son ordered a new pizza and we were told mins after 20 minutes of finishing our starters that they had no pulled pork and what pizza would he like instead. My husband said please can we have all mains together rather than waiting for his. Pizzas came all together but my salad did not. 10 mins waitress says they are waiting for the egg. So I didn't eat with my family. 20mins later they still don't know what happened to the egg. I said I will have it without. When we were ready to pay using tesco vouchers, the waitress reacted like it was an inconvenience for her.We left without tipping and will never return! The only good thing was the non alcohol drink I got to know and have bought for home!

I cannot comment on the in-house service because my food was delivered.Placed an order on New Years Eve for myself and 2 guests to find all of my food burnt and completely dry!! There was hardly no cheese on all 3 pizzas with the margarita ones bone dry and hard to even cut. Even my child complained at how tough the dough was.My bruschetta wasn’t even edible!!The dough balls were disrespectful!! The chef clearly didn’t care one bit when placing food in their boxes.Very disappointed

So disappointed after ordering one of my favourite classic pizzas. The Fiorentina. After waiting for an hour, it arrived. The yolk had been broken, so was hard boiled. This iconic pizza of course needs a runny yolk. I asked for another specifying a lovely runny egg. The replacement came quickly but it was exactly the same as the first. lol. The waitress was apologetic, offering to try again. My family had finished their meal by now, so I settled for this one. My happy memories of this pizza dashed and ruined. It was bland and doughy too. Not impressed at all. My wife thinks I am being too unrealistic “It’s Pizza Express. In Crawley.”Maybe it’s a training issue, or the chefs in Crawley can’t be arsed. Maybe my wife is right. Worse to consider is that all Pizza Express Fiorentinas have lost the runny yolk because of food safety fears. Either way, Pizza Express, shame on you.I’ve previously enjoyed eating at Pizza Express for many, many years, in many towns, not just because it’s great for kids. Maybe it’s time to reconsider that.

1 waiter and 1 cook, what a joke!! Food was alright but took ridiculously long. There were only 5 tables in and they were turning people away ?

Waited over two hours for our starters, wrong toppings on one pizza, the wreath pizza was a ring of crust, (no pizza) with a salad in the middle, sent back, dough balls are only half the size they used to be.

Found this branch online. Turned up to be told they don’t take walk-ins, bookings only, due to complaints and bad reviews, even though 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. However they did kindly (and they were kind), point us in the direction of Pizza Hut as an alternative (thank you).1 star to the restaurant, 5 stars to the staff.

Disappointing! Turned up at 5pm 17.12.23 for 3 to eat. One other small table eating and we were told they are not taking walk-in customers as they are short staffed! They then went in to say they had a larger booking in 30 mins so couldn’t cater for us. Shocked at such poor customer service, absolutely ridiculous.

Well what can I say. Booked here for a birthday celebration. Was seated at our table and waited half an hour to be offered a drink. Had to go find someone in the end to take our drinks order. Staff were having a chat at the bar area. Then had to go find someone to take our food order. Staff were more interested in getting takeaway orders out the door rather than those sat in the restaurant. Several times we had to go shut the fire exit doors that delivery drivers were using because we were freezing. Delivery drivers were being rude because we shut the doors. When we did finally get our food it was cold. Yes we got 50% off our meal after complaining but it should never of got to that situation. I have used this restaurant many times in the past and never had a complaint. It's bad enough when 1 person complains about bad service but our party of 6 were less than impressed and none of us will be returning
