Top quality food, especially for a pub - service was great and attentive. The menu is good too, a range of tastes for all.Plenty of parking spaces, off the road, and it's a nice bar atmosphere too - with a selection of beers and cider.Top marks!

Brilliant night here, my wife had a massive choice of GF and went for the Farmer Burger and I had the sourdough bun on a bourbon burger. Fantastic amount of food and good value. Lovely cosy eating area. Top marks to the staff for attentive good service but also leaving us to enjoy

5 stars are based on the cheeseboard I had. I am very, very hard to please when it comes to cheeseboards. Many local eateries (and even abroad actually) you are promised a cheeseboard only to be handed a sorry excuse for an anaemic looking side plate. The Farmers provides a cheeseboard with strength. A generous serving of three local cheese with an appropriate amount of crackers. They do not scimp on the good stuff. I am relieved to have found an establishment worthy of calling themselves a cheeseboard provider.I also was there for an open mic night. The atmosphere was lovely, locals and staff alike were very friendly and welcoming.

We had a lovely meal today in the Farmer's i lived in Scaynes Hill from 1950 till 1978 so as it was such a lovely day today we thought how nice to have a walk around the village and a meal would like to say thank you for the lovely meal ? ?

The food here is always delicious. The only downside was that during our last visit (lunchtime period), every table was booked!! (good for them ?)We weren't asked for more drinks after our first, which we would have said yes to... and we asked for a dessert menu, but they took so long to come and ask what we wanted, we gave up waiting and had dessert at home. Shame. They had plenty of staff hanging around at the bar. Still though would recommend ?Kid-friendliness: Lovely park outside for the summer. Nice atmosphere where kids are welcome

Booked for boxing day lunchtime meal with family. All bookings done on line. Very efficient. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. The atmosphere was not particularly festive. The website led me to believe that they have Harvey's beer and guest beers. Unfortunately no Harvey's but a local from the 360 brewery which was described as a Harvey's replacement, it was nice but not as good as Harvey's. There was also a Green Hop beer on offer, but this time of year?? I tried some but was very unimpressed, it had quite an acidic taste. The menu was not overwhelming, little for the non meat eater. The food was timely and plentiful. The steak pie was large but lacking steak, mainly mushrooms and gravy and more gravy on the plate and more in the a jug. Very disappointed with the pie. All in all the Farmers did live up to the earlier reviews.
We had a wonderful Boxing day large family party here. The staff were very good, the food arrived very quickly and was excellent. I would recommend this pub.

£6 for the best ever Stilton and Onion soup with a generous amount of Ciabatta bread. Freezing cold day, loved the warm cosy fire, hot soup and Christmas decorations. Friendly staff, great place for lunch.

This is a massive pub which when full probably is full of atmosphere and warm. We arrived on a freezing cold day and walked into a very friendly lady host and a nice roaring log fire. We were seated into a very large restaurant with only a couple of tables taken, it was not very warm or cosy so we were delighted when the lady host came and offered us the round table by the log fire which had just become vacant and was very kind and appreciated by us. We ordered and enjoyed our drink whilst we waited for our food. The food came nicely presented and hot. We had the chicken breast burger with homemade coleslaw, fresh chips and a very large roll, a homemade pie which was very well presented but there was a rich sauce poured over it instead of being in a sauce boat, it seemed like it had been placed back in the oven for too long and the pastry was quite hard to eat. The other meal was a burger which our friend found a little overcooked. We were asked about our food and didn't have the heart to mention our few concerns. The service we had was excellent from our host no complaints there at all. We had a nice surprise later on when our lady host offered us all a mince pie was a really nice touch, especially as we were not good spenders on the drinks after our meal as we were all driving. Maybe a good idea would be to offer a lunchtime smaller fresh affordable menu as we felt the prices were a little high for the quality of our food served. Also allocate a small closed off area which could be kept warm when they are quiet to keep the diners cosy. To be fair outside was freezing so it must be difficult to keep the place heated. To conclude not a bad experience but the lady host and log fire were the most enjoyable aspects of our lunch.
Very nice place and people!

Service rather slow but they were very busy.
