Went for mid week lunch & was pleasantly surprised. Food was very reasonably priced & good value for what we got. Has a nice garden at the back. Friendly young lad that served us.
As usual the food was as advertised I especially enjoyed the new vegetable linguine. The only fly in the ointment was with the app when I came to pay! My loyalty card promised £5 off when I spent £20, having spent over £30 I was surprised when I was told that it didn't apply! I was doubly surprised when I was told that they could add to my loyalty card because I haven't asked at the beginning of the trying to pay process!! I really like the Red Lion. It is 'horses for courses'. This is basic (Ember Inns / chain) pub food. It is not fine dining. However it is wonderful value for money, enjoyable in a friendly environment.
